    Open and Flexible

    Marketer (Current Employee) Malvern, PA

ProsManager is flexible and open to ideas, gives me time to do what I need with family. Casual atmosphere, clear expectations about project timelines. Good 401k plan and good medical plan, we have 2 kids. I have received profit sharing bonus last 3 years, even in down economy, we did okay.

ConsWe could use more employee centered events, like celebrating monthly birthdays.

Branch Manager (Current Employee) Malvern, PA

ProsSchedule, Holidays Off, Performance-Based Pay, Growth/Development Potential, very little politics.

ConsEquipment/Technology needs updated. Some physical work-space/office updates (cosmetic) also could be helpful.

    My Job Is Rewarding

Rather Not Say (Current Employee) Malvern, PA

ProsMy job is rewarding. I know the work I do is benefiting various types of individuals and therefore organizations all over the country. Everyday is different for me so it keeps it fresh. While every job has a sense of monotony, the nature of what we do – providing educational materials to business minded folk – provides enough variety to keep it interesting. I am well respected by my boss and I am never micro-managed. While I am guided, I have found that in this company, if you are organized and good with time management you will be treated as the adult you should be in a corporate setting. You are set up for success and led to make “executive decisions” which also makes for a better work environment. Holding employees accountable for their decisions, creativity, and behavior is essential to a successful company.

A lot of companies preach an “open door policy” but I must stress how true this is at PBP. I always feel I am “heard” when I have an idea, propose a process, or simply voice my opinion about how I perceive something happening in the office or company. That to me is the most important part of any job.

ConsAs with every job, of course it has its "cons". Our area in the building is very cold everyday, no matter the weather outside. We do have a space heater though. Also, who doesn’t want to make more money? I have had wage increases as I have moved up and into various positions with different responsibilities but of course I hope to get more responsibility eventually and therefore make more money.

    Hard work rewarded with opportunity

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsIf you put in the work and time to learn about the company you will be rewarded with increased responsibility and opportunity.
You are always encouraged to try new things and new approaches which is a refreshing change from other organizations I have worked for.
Very involved in the community and believes in and encourages giving back - something that is missing in many companies today.

ConsMore vacation time would be nice, but I have learned from past experience, sometimes you pay for more vacation time through unpaid/unrecognized overtime.

    Structure, growth and flexibility.

    Manager (Current Employee) Pottsville, PA

ProsI love the hours. No evenings or weekends. The fact that I am able to grow with the company. They promote from within. The training program is outstanding. A great atmosphere! A very supportive culture. The company knows how important we are. I enjoy coming to work every day. Not many can say that.

ConsI have never run into any cons that cause me to re evaluate my position here.

    Summer Internship Experience

Data Analytics Intern (Current Employee) Malvern, PA

ProsAlthough I have only been with Progressive Business Publications for a short time, I can see many positive things about the company. They have a wealth of employees that create a substantial amount of high quality content for their products. They offer a laid back work environment with a lax business casual dress code. The company is focused on giving back to the community and has a strong sense of corporate social responsibility.

ConsThe Progressive Business Publication brand has been tarnished through an outdated sales process. Even through all of the good things the company does, when you speak to others about who you work for there is typically a negative connotation to the conversation.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to explore other areas of business to enter into by actively engaging your customers.

Morning Manager (Current Employee) Williamsport, PA

ProsIn addition to the flexible work schedule, competitive pay, and opportunities for advancement- PBP's core values facilitate an environment I'm proud to be a part of.

ConsBecause of the flexibility of the work schedule you have to be self managed. For some, this can different and challenging from what they are used to.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work!

I've always been treated fairly and I feel it's a great place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsExpectations are clear -- performance is rewarded. If you are struggling, there is plenty of help available -- you just need to ask. There's a good balance between hard work and socializing. Senior management encourages learning and development both inside and outside the office, and the benefits package is generous, even if the starting salaries are somewhat low for certain positions.

ConsTechnology has not always kept pace with growth.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
