Former Employee – worked at Prophet Brand Strategy
Pros – Interesting work with clients on marketing strategy - from the conceptual (brand positioning or essence) to the concrete (looking at all aspects of the customer experience).
Cons – Very bad at assimilating new hires, especially beyond the entry level. There is an expectation that brand new employees will know a great deal about the way Prophet works, the prior work it has done, and how to manage a sea of difficult personalities. SExpectations for work product are often unclear (which is sometimes unavoidable in consulting) but feedback is often unfocused, unconstructive, and/or non-actionable (e.g., "I don't know what I want, I just know this isn't it, and I can't/won't spend the time to provide any direction"). This is exacerbated by rudimentary training not directly applicable to project work and staffing within projects which does not take into account employees' experience on prior projects.
The travel and hours can be extreme (as in many consulting firms).
Advice to Senior Management – Apply your expertise around customer experience management to the Prophet employment experience.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
