I have been working at Prudential full-time

    Pros

well funded. Diverse, tolerant. Talent focused. Ready to take on new problems. Very focused on quality of life and taking care of its employees and its customers. one of the most ethical and ethics focused organizations I have ever worked for.

    Cons

risk intolerant. Bad computing environment. sometimes resistant to change. offices can be drab. at times low energy. There can be confusion around where the real opportunities and the real competition is.

    Advice to Management

Embrace change. Bring in outside talent as much as possible. Encourage a culture of experimentation and entrepreneurship. Look for ways to use technology to scale and speed the business, not just mitigate risk.

I have been working at Prudential as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

This is the best company and people I have had the pleasure to work with ever. Everyone cares deeply about your success and tries there best to prepare you and mentor you. Everyone works together for the common goals needed to achieve both personal and company goals. Joint work is always a matter of how we can best serve our clients and not about how we can best serve ourselves.

    Cons

This is a very conservative company making sure that it is doing the right things for it's clients and employees which sometimes seems to take forever for changes to occur. In a business such as this with all of it's regulations it is understandable but it is necessary to keep pace with the other companies in the industry.

    Advice to Management

A little more help in the area of company and product self promotion of the quality and services provided would go along way to achieve the goals necessary to meet the demands of the job.

I have been working at Prudential full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Prudential's benefits include three weeks of vacation, 401k match, pension plan, 90% tuition assistance for graduate and undergraduate degrees, performance based bonus, health insurance, and wellness programs. There is opportunity for career advancement as Prudential promotes heavily with internal employees. Management is supportive and helpful in regards to a work/life balance.

    Cons

Beginning a career in the call center requires patience because a promotion to another department is not possible until a minimum of one year of service. Once eligible for promotion, there are only few positions available each year. Prudential's low turnover is due to being one of the best employers in the world.

    Advice to Management

Create a mentor program for call center associates with other departments. Meeting with other departments will allow for relationship building and ideas on what skills call center representatives must develop to be a prime candidate for advancement.
