    Pros

Publix is very flexible with your hours, starts you off at a base salary higher than minimum wage, you get a raise every six months, the people are very nice.

    Cons

One of the only downsides i can think of is that it is very hard to move up the ladder,at least in customer service, because there are a lot of employees.

    Pros

If one decides to work at any retail location of any type, there exists none better than Publix! Since all associates are the actual owners of the company and no one else we care where our customer shop. They can go any were but the above and beyond service that we pride ourselves in ensures our continued success.

    Cons

To many people love to work at Publix because they have unfortunately developed a reputation they if you want to get " paid to do no work" then Publix is the place to work. And Publix has become scared as it were to get rid of the dead weight that the actual "real" workers are forced by pride to compensate for.

    Advice to Management

The employees that continue on a daily basis to get away with walking around with hands in their pockets and just loafing around talking instead of doing the job that they were hired to do, get rid of them!

    Pros

Publix is a great place to work if you are looking to staying with the company. You have the opportunity to move up very fast. i worked as a cashier, then in the deli, and my last position while i was there I was a cake decorator. Great atmosphere.

    Cons

The store is open too late and after the store closes employes must fix all the merchandise on all the shelves in the store and sometimes you can be there till midnight when your scheduled to get off at 10pm.

    Pros

The stock is by far a major reason to work here between what Publix has just given me and what I've paid into my 401k(15$ a week) I have close to 26k$ in my retirement benefits summary. Im on the verge of being promoted to asst manager and at that point will make about 750$ weekly not including bonuses. I'm proud of where I work and I get to see My work impact other employees and customers for the best. I know that even if I don't move far up the Publix chain I can properly invest into the stock and leave there a millionaire. Two weeks vacation at the start and a building sick pay that does not expire.

    Cons

It is a very demanding job, I come home beaten and EXHAUSTED. Also I have been competing for management and trying to get it for the past 3 years and I'm now finally in a place where in virtually garunteed to be promoted next. It is difficult on that path to management trying to provide for my family and make the bills.

    Advice to Management

Although benefits are adequate Publix benefits have always outshined others. Why is it at this juncture in time are we at par with other companies? The pay scale has not changed much in the past 7 years. It seems like we are at a point where we are trying to build the stock to the point of splitting regardless of how it affects the rest of the company (labor, benefits, pay) we need to remember that the majority driving force of the company are its part time and full time employees and we need to not only retain them but reward them. For such a demanding job the pay and benefits seem "decent". I think it's time we step it up a notch likepublix always did the past, not doing the bare minimum that we have been doing lately. I want my fellow and future associates to be like me, proud to workforce Publix.
