I have been working at Pulte Homes full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Free lunches, meet and greet lunches, Directors of NFS, Chris Lipscomb, and Sherri Addington, were awesome.... great motivators.

    Cons

politics, managers aren't trained and have no idea how to manage when they aren't knowledgable in their fields. No communications... Favoritism, and lack of team work and kindness.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire knowledgable staff, train, train, train, keep team motivated!!!!

I have been working at Pulte Homes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pulte is good at team building events and fun activities to take your mind off of the work place. Divisions are friendly and so is most staff at home office. Management is always willing to help. The pay is pretty decent.

    Cons

Atlanta is now the focus of the company. Those in Michigan still are left with nothing to do and no one caring about them. The once happy positive work environment is now filled with sadness and animosity.

    I worked at Pulte Homes

    Pros

medical benefits were good and some of the worker bees were good people. It was a laid back culture most of the time.

    Cons

if you don't play along you go nowhere fast. I worked constant weekends and long hours only to have it turned against me as soon as things started going bad in the market. The funny thing is management would go on and on about 50 straight years of profit up until the crash. As soon as that happened it was no more bonus, no growth, and not even a Christmas party! It was shut up and work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to the people you hire and get behind them with support; not just empty words/promises. Stop with the fake culture.

    I worked at Pulte Homes

    Pros

Fantastic medical benefits, lunch provided 4 days/week as well as fridges and cupboards full of food. Free fountain beverages. Worker bees friendly and pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Dental benefits not worth paying for. Major disconnect between upper management and workers. Middle management is so focused on adding value to their own positions that they mismanage the people under them. Rewards systems and team atmosphere are non-existent and the sentiment coming from middle management to workers is basically "you're lucky to have this job so you'll take poor treatment and like it." Camaraderie is low and middle management takes no interest in your thoughts, ideas, well-being. You'll enjoy working here if you liked being whipped until you can't work anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect the people who support you. Your business is only as good as your workers and based on Q1 and 2 this year your workers are extremely dissatisfied with you.

    I worked at Pulte Homes

    Pros

Lots of money to be made in sales during the good times. Pulte does offer plenty of chances to bond with your coworkers.

    Cons

Sexual harassment abounds; the company is run by many rednecks who lack college degrees, but have no problems belittling those that have them. Several managers utter racist remarks with abandon and many leaders, especially those in HR, have advanced for no reaon other than "right place, right time."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit patting yourselves in the back when times are good and blaming the market when times are bad.

I worked at Pulte Homes full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Not much to say here - Can make easy money in a good market and in a good community otherwise there are better sales positions

    Cons

Below average managers, work weekends, commission structure, never ending reporting, blowing up balloons, and many more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should've been more fiscally conservative, listen to people in the front lines instead of coming up with ideas in a board room, get rid of a lot of unnecessary reporting.

I have been working at Pulte Homes

    Pros

Like coworkers. They are honest down to earth folks for the most part. Like everywhere else, there are sharks in the tank.

    Cons

Treat you like you have no feelings. You're not flesh and blood, you're a number. Just fill in the boxes. Don't think for yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's the economy. Things are hard. You make is harder. Makes it hard to come to work everyday. Discounnected from workers.
