It's a great place to work

Systems Engineer II (Current Employee) Bloomfield Hills, MI

ProsAll my years (12 as an employee and another 5 as a contractor) I was surrounded with great people. Company has great culture, everyone (in IT at least) can contribute to the processes and change them, or at least can be heard.

ConsIf they only stay in Michigan, I would say "nothing".

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to keep the same culture in new place.

    A place I call home...

Systems Archictect (Current Employee) Bloomfield Hills, MI

ProsGreat people, quality of life, innovative technology. In 18 years I have never had a supervisor that I didn't want to work hard for. I always feel they were looking out for me and always are working to ensure I'm happy - so I can work hard and stay focused on the task at hand. There is a good mixture of best practice and the ability to implement real world solutions based on those best practices. Working here will ensure you can work in IT anywhere.

ConsCyclical home building cycles can make it a bumpy ride.

A great place to be employed.

Systems Engineer II (Current Employee) Bloomfield Hills, MI

ProsThe people and opportunities to learn over the years have been great. I have had the chance to work with all levels of the business on many different projects. The opportunities to grow exist if you are willing to reach for them.

ConsMovement of the corporate headquarters to Atlanta. The loss of institutional knowledge will be felt for several years after the move is complete.

Advice to Senior ManagementCommunicate appropriately based on the audience. There are times when a single message is appropriate for all and times when a follow up message is necessary for other locations based on impact of the message?

    Great place to work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Tempe, AZ

ProsVery positive environment. Pulte encourages it's employees to grow within the company and to climb the ladder.

ConsThe company has struggled in recent years with the fall out of the housing market. They have had to lay off many talented employees. Hopefully that will change and they will grow again.

Great Company / Solid Future Growth

Director of Strategic Marketing (Current Employee) Scottsdale, AZ

ProsNothing at PulteGroup tends to stand still for long, so if you embrace change, you will like it here.

ConsThe home building market is cyclical and hit record lows in recent years. It was necessary to lay off many talented employees who contributed greatly to the success of the Pulte Homes, Del Webb and Centex brands.

Advice to Senior ManagementAs the cycle ramps back up, remember all the seasoned employees who were laid off during the Great Recession. These people can hit the ground running during the rebound and contribute strongly to volume/margin growth objectives.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
