    I worked at PwC

    Pros

Great learning opportunity surrounded by the best and the brightest talent. Everyone is very professional and driven to succeed. You gain a lot of experience that is marketable when you decide to leave a big 4 accounting firm. Just having the name on your resume gives you instant credibility in my experience. People know you are a high caliber employee if you worked at PwC.

    Cons

Management expects a lot from you (compensation reflects this - ie. high pay). They firm tries to promote work life balance but at the end of the day you have to decide how much of your life you want to be work. I found most people gain the experience by working in public accounting then go work in industry (often for a former client) for better work life balance. It is easy to get burned out. Seasonal work can make it difficult to stay long term especially as you begin to establish a family.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recruitment continues to be hugely important. Continue to higher high caliber employees - they are benefiting greatly by working for the firm.

    Pros

The people and pwc are genuine, smart and interesting. Starting salary is not great, but you get compensated with the opportunities that ensue after getting experience there.

    Cons

One of the challenges of working at PwC is the pressure of deadlines and late hours. This pretty much accompanies any job, but busy season can be very challenging to endure. You need to mentally prepare yourself.

    I worked at PwC full-time

    Pros

Staff mates are amazing. You will learn a lot from your peers and your managers. Like most prestigious employers it is a great one to have on your resume no matter where you go in the future. Great benefits and very competitive salaries. Opportunities to work in different divisions and even other countries are readily available.

    Cons

The work is intense and long. Do not plan the rest of your life on making it to partner, very few do, and those that do work very hard. Your biggest challenge may be getter your worklife balance. If you decide to take an "opportunity' for a tour in another country or office, make sure you understand how it will affect your progress. Some seem to delay promotions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of your middle managers don't seem to get the "people initiative."

I worked at PwC as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

The best part working at PwC is definitely the people. You work as a team, and will make many very good friends. Also, there are many available resources (people, manuals, PwC help line, ect.) that can be referred to in case of any questions.

    Cons

The biggest con of working for any of the big for is the hours worked and pressure that comes with busy season, overload of work, and strict short deadlines. There are times when one will be working 16-18 hour days. However, this should be expected especially in the tax department.
