    Post IPO

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsDriven environment that requires a lot of learning.
Remote working and not that much travel.

ConsPost IPO, not too exciting. Management is always coming down on you.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet back to basics.

Turning into a big, bad software company

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe underlying technology was industry leading. Shame R&D have not moved with the market and there is a real threat that QV will become a boring, same same BI vendor (if it has not already happened)

ConsThe strong amazing culture has disappered since they went IPO. The core values are now ignored and along with ex SAP Business Objects management came a massive change in the way employees are treated.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to the core values.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Not ready for Prime Time

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsCompany meetings are in international locations
Products can do some amazing things if pitching to the right audience
    Not much micro-management (my experience)

ConsManagement preaches a big family, yet fires managers at Christmas Parties, or the day before they are to leave for the company trip for a week... very inconsistent. Also the replacements to the fired individuals show up the next day, so it is all planned.

Management has no (BI) industry experience except for this company, and it shows.

The product was leading edge 5 years ago, and now others have caught up. Qliktech had a chance to be a major player, but it is over now. There was a buzz about an IPO, but who knows when/if that will happen. They claim other competitors being bought is a victory for them, but the reality is they got passed over and now the competition is stronger than ever.
There are worse things than being bought or even going under... they are dying a slow death.

From a career perspective, knowing Qlikview won't get you far outside of Qliktech.
Working for BOBJ/MSTR/Cognos wil provide you with better skills while earning more money.
When the end comes for Qliktech, you will wish you'd been someplace else.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop living in a fantasy world, where you insist you are doing everything right, yet the sales are a fraction of their competition. The 'fastest growing BI company' every year is NOT good as it shows slow incremental growth. Other BI companies can not have a 50% growth rate because they are already dominating the market.
Any suggestion as to how other companies are doing it is met with resistance. You actually promote that the competition is 'failing' when you get a replacement deal, yet that month the leading BI competitors sell 2x more than you will sell for the year. if you keep doing the same things over and over, you will wind up with the same result.
