ProsApply only if you are jobless or in between jobs

ConsToo much emphasis on process, too much red tapes to get anything done.

    Unappreciated

Project Engineer (Current Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsThe company offers good flexibility of work schedule

ConsWorkrate fluctuates greatly - management unprepared to adapt to this and unwilling to provide non-billable work to make up for it.

Vacation extremely minimal (1 day for new hires, 8 after 3 years service) - shared with sick time

Training for new tasks and new hires extremely disorganized and confusing

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on improving training

Offer competitive benefits and pay rates

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Project Engineer

Project Engineer (Current Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsPlenty of work, decent benefits, good opportunities to learn various skills.

ConsLack of management involvement, little difference in pay for employees with 2 or 4 year degrees, little to no room for upward movement. Management favoritism between employees. Many people hired based on a friend working there, even if they didn't have the necessary skill or experience. All on the job training, very little knowledge sharing.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake an interest and get involved in your employees. Make a clear separation in pay for employees based on schooling and experience.

    Big cluster-mess!

Project Engineer (Former Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsNo set schedule. Come in at 6 am or 9 am, doesn't matter as long as you put in 8 hours.

ConsYour role at Quest is undefined. You're handed work to do but upper management doesn't understand the work scope. Team leads have degrees in political science and other non-engineering degrees.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet the college educated engineers run the show. Having people with non-technical degrees in leadership roles is a disaster as an engineer. They just don't "get it."

The turnover rate is extremely high at QuEST due to low pay and lack of support from Management

Project Engineer (Current Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsIf you want an environment where your managers at QuEST are unaware of the type of work that your job supporting Pratt and Whitney entails then this is the company for you !

ConsToo much emphasis on meeting QuEST metrice - uploading your status reports, providing QuEST manangement with cost savings opportunities and not enough emphasis on how you actually perform your job in the eyes of the customer, who is a division of UTC.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a serious look at the metrics you use to rate your employee performance and hold on to talented employees by paying them a greater percentage of the billable rate.

    Poor

    Engineer (Former Employee) Bangalore (India)

    Pros-Lot of onsite (Foreign) opportunities.

Cons-People in the middle level management are all from karnataka. They promote people from Karnataka without any reason even if they underperform while keeping the growth of people from other states in check. Plain and simple- 'Dirty politics on the basis of regionalism works more than 'quality' in quest'
    -Low pay
    -No work life balance

Advice to Senior ManagementPromote people with better skills

Wonderful learning phase at the starting of my carrier

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

Prosthis company is very ambitious company with a gr8 vision and misson. this company is really good to start of the carrier of a person but not good for long time sustained growth.

Consthe compensation on benefits have no logic in between the work you do and the pay you get. the company pay more to the freshers who join the company than to a person with 2 years experience in the same company.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
