Was a good place to work until Quad bought us out.

    Rolltender (Former Employee)
    Merced, CA

ProsEnjoyed working with everyone with the exception of a few.

ConsFirst off those stupid uniforms are ridiculous! Have to call a day ahead to see if you have to work the next day. Can't plan a life unless you take a vacation. Good ole boy, circle of friends culture. If your friends with the manager you're well taken care of, if you're not well you get the picture and I have plenty of examples of that! Management has no consideration for the people that have put in a lot of years and have families to take care of. Only care that you take care of the company. They want you to step up to the next position but without the pay (take the risk without the reward). To much favoritism.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou say you are a company with a soul. I think many would say otherwise. Treat people like they're worth something other than a $ sign. Get rid of the circle of friends culture in Merced.

    Where to start??

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsGood benefits
    Nothing else is good

ConsWhere do I start with this first off they play the favorites game so if you looking for overtime it won't happen unless you are one of the favorites. Next they don't like minorities especially blacks just how it is they look out for the regular associates more than their leads which is horrible then they give these dumb job titles out like team lead which is really the supervisor and business area lead which is really the operations manager just to be cheap and not pay people supervisor or operations salary then you get 2 20 minute breaks in 12 hours really?? You get overtime after 40 which you will never see because you only get 3 days a week this company is a joke

Advice to Senior ManagementRacism is not cool

Not A Good Experience or Environment

    Production Worker (Former Employee)
    New Berlin, WI

ProsThe pay is not bad its better than most

ConsThis company plays favoritism. My supervisor was always out to get me and make me look bad. I'm glad I do not work there anymore and I would not recommend this company.

    Run for the hills

    Senior Financial Analyst (Current Employee)
    Chicago, IL

ProsHelps pay your bills. There isn't to much to say that is positive about this company. By far the worst place I have worked for.

ConsSalaries, Management, growth potential, Culture (is cult like), wear uniforms. You are expected to work weekends and evenings. They promote work/life balance but that hasn't been my experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementOffer competitive salaries otherwise you will be left with your worst employees. Also, lose the uniforms its weird and isn't professional. Only way to advance is to work in Sussex and be a Quadracci family friend.

Run away and don't look back..

    Systems Administrator (Former Employee)
    Irving, TX

ProsYou always have the option to leave..

ConsAll decisions are made from above, everyone else is a trained monkey. They have no problem blowing smoke about being part of a great family and how solid you future is with them, meanwhile they are arranging your end date. The company I worked for was bought by Quad, I saw my position posted on their sight, then they fired me because they no longer needed my skill-set. When I pointed out the listing I was told that I actually made more then twice what they would pay. In the end it worked out, I went to another company and actually got a raise because my new company pays industry standard.

Bottom line, they dump their skilled workers for fresh out of college cheap labor. The techs at Quad were blown away by the technology solutions we created at the company they bought (Vertis), but then Quad promptly began to fire the guys that created it. They were blown away because you can't teach real world experience in college.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your head out of the clouds and back in touch with your employees. I know you have a great history and were at one time family oriented, find it again before it's gone forever. Running a company isn't just about building your families bank account for your kids.

ProsThere are none. Unless you like low pay and the worst management ever!!!

ConsLow pay, retirement is a joke, get to pay for uniforms, self pay even individual health insurance, ridiculous rotating 12 hour shifts, no family life, bosses are jerks, extreme favoritism toward suck ups no matter how unqualified they are, this place sucks!!!!

    Advice to Senior ManagementSuck it!!!
