ProsQuad is a good company if you are hired in directly by them. Training and Safety are top notch.

ConsBeing brought in to Quad as an employee by an acquisition is tough. The culture of the company does not engender it to people who do not start their career with them.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Great Career

    Sales (Current Employee)

ProsOverall Quad is a great company that does well by its employees. Lots of opportunities for those who are willing to work hard and do their part. The company is still family controlled and that helps take some of the knee jerk Wall Street reactions out of play.

ConsIts a challenging industry and the company has had to do some things to stay competitive that make it tough at times. Probably not a whole lot different than anywhere else in this economy,

Advice to Senior ManagementI see personal growth and development as an issue for the company. As the company has focused on staying competitive in a difficult industry they have at times forgotten to engage and grow employees.

ConsCan be very stress full at times. There are some crazy deadlines you're expected to meet.

    Quad/Graphics - CSR

    Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
    The Rock, GA

ProsGreat company culture, good benefits, great group to work with, decent pay. Fitness facilities, medical clinics onsite, tuition reimbursement, outdoor activity facilities (volleyball, basketball, fishing, trails).

ConsOn call 24/7, little downtime, difficult to advance after a point if you don't live around company headquarters, more difficult to make management than in the past.

International company with a lot of job possibilities.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThis company is very widespread and covers many different print capabilities. Because of this, there are many different career avenues that can be explored until you find one that's right for you. They are an international company, so this allows for travel opportunities as well.
The employees at Quad/Graphics are respectful, become fast friends, and help each other out whenever needed.

ConsAs Quad/Graphics continues to buy out companies, sales have a tendency to slow down. This makes work and production slower. It can sometimes be difficult to keep up with the influx of work and then have a slow month immediately after. Management also tends to try out their own ideas and concepts for how things need to be run before taking the better advice of the employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementI believe upper management needs to take all employee advice into consideration, realize a good idea when they see one, and implement it with little to no hesitation.

ProsThis was a very easy company to work for and for the most part a good employer.

ConsThe management team was extremely difficult to break into or you had to come in as part of the network.

A good company to work for.

    Imaging Technician (Current Employee)

ProsIf you're an hourly employee, the overtime is pretty much unlimited. Want to work 70 hours a week? Have at it. Health benefits are good. On-site clinics and pharmacies are a great perk. Larger plants have decent food service.

ConsIf you don't like working overtime, it could be a problem. Deadlines must be met, and if that means working 12 hour days 6 days a week, that's what it takes sometimes.

ProsWell established commercial printer with wide range of benefits. Many opportunites to relocate, good promotion from within.

ConsLong work hours. Misaligned management that does not lead from a clear directive. Massive amount of employees to contend with if trying to advance.

Advice to Senior ManagementBetter common voice. Department to department and from manager to manager you can hear different opinions of where the company is headed
