ProsStable job, competitive compensation, good healthcare benefits, good 401k plan

ConsAs a company, not creating enough growth opportunities for the future. Most employees work very long hours, there aren't enough facilities (late evening cafeteria, recreational facilities) at work place to ease the pressure

Great company to work for as an intern

    Software Engineer Intern (Current Employee)
    San Diego, CA

    Pros- Good hourly pay
    - Complete coverage for housing and relocation expenses
    - Plenty of intern events and involvement

Cons- Work experience is highly dependent on manager and team. It's possible to get stuck doing boring work all summer since it's not normally possible to transfer to a different team as an intern.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave set goals, deliverables, and dates for interns and temps before they come onboand.

Great culture but expect to work on weekends, regularly.

    Software/Systems Test Engineer (Current Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsLots of perks, great culture, interesting projects.

ConsLong workings hours plus work on weekends. Regularly.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to sort out the temp employee issue. Temporary employees have to take a 2 month break after a certain period of time, and the full-times are overburdened with work during those 2 months. Either hire the temps or do give them a break in service.

    Good campany

    Interim Engineering (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsHave an internship at Qualcomm in the summer 2013. They provide good salary and good relocation package, and the overall work is also good. The people at Qualcomm are generally very nice and helpful, and they are developing cutting edge techniques.

ConsThe food at the food court inside of the company is pretty bad. They should choose another provider. Response of the IT support is slow. The parking lot at Qualcomm is kind of small, and if you go to the office late in the morning, it is hard to find spaces to park.
