Electrical Engineering Intern in San Diego

Engineering Intern (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

ProsCompetitive pay, paid for travel to and from San Diego, provided luxury housing all summer, many intern activities to keep us busy outside of work and help make friends, encouraged learning/job shadowing, and had many seminars to connect the interns with senior level management. This was a wonderful experience!

ConsNone come to mind. It was a great summer!

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the great internship program!

Public Affairs Internship

Public Affairs Intern (Former Employee)
San Diego, CA

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

ProsQualcomm is an extremely successful company that truly cares about it's employees and interns. The internship program is so strong that I immediately felt apart of the team and involved in each step of the way through the various projects I assisted them with. The people are friendly, smart, driven and fun.

ConsThe only reason I would not recommend Qualcomm to somebody is if they were not passionate about wireless technology and the big advances occurring in the industry, or if they weren't keen on the big corporate feel.

Internship at Qualcomm

Interim Engineering Intern (Current Employee)
San Diego, CA

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

Pros1. Great Intern treatment.
2. Responsibility to do something the team depends on and not just some random testing stuff.
3. San Diego..!! :p

Cons1. The pay during the internship was adequate but the full time offer was below par.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou guys are doing great with the entire experience. The only thing lacking is the compensation (which could be improved to par on other similar companies like nVidia)

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

Proscompetitive salary, lodging reimbursement, relocation reimbursement, paid timeoff.
worked on projects just same as a full-time. oppurtunities to get access to top-level technologies and made real contributions to the future products

Consmanagement processing was slow, probably due to huge organizations and huge amount of employees.

Advice to Senior Managementnew employee orientation should be more departmental-/team-specific other than general introductions to the whole company.
