I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Small, exciting start-up feel but with the security and stability of mother Qualcomm in the background. Very hands-on, extensive experience and super small people collaborating together. Great management and leadership team!

    Cons

Because it is still in start up mode, there is some confusion around strategy and processes could be more fomalized and communicated better but that will come with time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on simpifying and standardizing processes and procedures as much as possible.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Access to tech talks and their own personal library.
    Great IT staff and tools.
Start up feel with big company perks.
Lots of gyms and bonding activities.
Full disclosure: They treat their interns really, really well. Full time employees do not get the same perks.

    Cons

As with most companies as an engineer you will spend a lot of time working. With Qualcomm's fast pace to stay three steps ahead of the competition it is hard not to be completely engrossed in your work. If you work here you should be of the mindset that your fun time is working.

    Pros

Qualcomm is a great place to work. There are nice benefits and a solid community from which to learn from.

    Cons

As it is a large company, it can sometimes be difficult to move all the right teams all in the same direction.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Qualcomm is one the best companies to work for. The salary is above national average and Qualcomm is one of the high paying companies. The benefits are really awesome, you get full health care coverage with very little copay.

If you are ambitious and hard working, Qualcomm is really good company to start your career and move forward.

    Cons

Sometimes the work gets hectic. Salary although high and Qualcomm is among best paying companies, it still not as high as compared to other giants like Google or Microsoft. Hence Qualcomm may have issues in retaining talent.

Bonuses and stocks are given to employees but again they could be much higher.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Qualcomm wants to.retain their top talent they should really start paying their top performing engineer higher salary so they are not tempted by offers from other companies and also give much higher bonuses and stock grants.
