I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Good salary & other perks
    2. Flexible work hours.
    3. Chance to learn new tools and technologies.
    4. Get to work on variety of projects.
    5. Free Food.
    6. Perfect work-life balance

    Cons

Few managers are from Service based company & they are spoiling the atmosphere of a perfect product based company.
They try to create rules all the time and want people to follow them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Slowly things are getting bad from past 6 months or so. There's frustration brewing in among employees. More people are searching for job opportunities outside, which was not the case 6 months back.
Please look into this concern quickly. Try to interact with employees. Ask for their feedback and act upon it.
NOTE: As i mentioned, few of the managers and not all of them are like this.

    Solid Company. Good Environment

Current Employee - Interim Engineering Intern in Santa Clara, CA

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great growth opportunity and work environment. The company sponsors many internal learning and training sessions to learn both internal infrastructures and useful skills that can be used outside the company.

    Cons

Feels like a big company. Hard to move up or around and big company bureaucracy is widely prevalent. Time commitment is extremely large as well. Most employees work long hours after going home.

    Current Employee - Staff Engineer

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great support for practicing world-class engineering (library, tools, etc.) plus great support for healthy living (on-site clinic, gyms, healthy food, sick days as needed, etc), work-life balance, and community support (volunteering, charity contribution support, etc). Great campus environment (farmers market, festivals, fairs, etc). Great learning opportunities (courses on-campus, streamed, and/or on-demand are available).

    Cons

It is a big company in a very competitive and rapidly changing industry. You have to be and stay on top of your game. Qualcomm gives you plenty of support but you have to deliver. You also have to put some effort to find the right fit for your skills or grow into a new position/role as projects and/or goals change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is a big company, so it would be nice to have a structured internal exchange program to get engineers exposed to other departments and bring with them best practices and technologies.
