    Pros

Tuition Reimbursement for those attending college. Scholarships for employee children (qualify). Excellent healthcare benefits. I love talking about God and how to better our lives.

    Cons

One of the greatest challenges that I found to be were immature, unprofessional and disrespectful co-workers. The amazing thing is management does nothing about it no matter who reports it.

    Advice to Management

    Dear Management,
Employ qualified, mature, professional, business savy and knowledgeable adults. People that actually know what they are doing. So that I would not have to type their memos, letters or proofread anything.

    Pros

appeared like a pretty good company but has started down a bad road

    Cons

Annual layoffs based on the bottom performers (5 point scale, 1 is best, all 4s and 5s let go). Does not allow anytime to correct deficiencies. HR is also a mess, two days between being notified and receiving separation paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Don't follow Sprint's game plan of outsourcing everything. There's a reason Sprint continues to bleed customers, and Quest is following right down the same footpath Sprint took.

    Pros

Great Benefts and compensation, flex-time, employee appreciation.

    Cons

Non-stop bullying, favorites, poor treatment of overweight employees or employees who are deemed to be "uncool". Does not matter if that employee is a great worker, only their appearance matters.

    Advice to Management

Send secret shopper style individuals from cprporate to be a "fly on the wall" to see the sickening culture of oppression and condescension from supervisors.

    Pros

II beleive that Quest offers fair salary and compensation packages.

    Cons

The management and staff at their revenue service center is the rudest and laziest culture and people I have ever worked with.

    Advice to Management

Create a culture where people who want to work hard are rewarded.

    Pros

Quest Diagnostics had a formal documentation process that allowed me to develop documentation skills throughout the entire SDLC. Using the traceabllity matrix along with developing the test data and cases before coding became a powerful tool in creating error free robust code. Another great opportunity, software developers became full stack developers. Having this kind of control over your software allows you to develop your skills as a software developer.

    Cons

Quest Diagnostics started taking away the SDLC from software developers along with the entire stack. The move from Microsoft stack to open stack was a poor choice because the old developers who had knowledge of the business did not have knowledge of the development tools and the new developer had knowledge of the development tools did not have knowledge of the business. When management convinced the business unit to go with the NichPro system they made promises that the development team could not keep. When working at Quest Diagnostics, beware of the intolerance of a diversity environment. Quest Diagnostics also had a 450 million and 225 million dollar consent decree to pay the FDA for not correcting their mistakes. The worst part about this is that employees were lied to that Quest Diagnostics was budgeted to cover the cost. They passive aggressively created excuses to fire people to reduce the cost of business. Another thing to watch out for are the Filipino girls had a nasty habit of trying to set you up with one of them. They also had a tendency to overwork their employees. Beware of the best place to work after management got the results they tried to figure out who said what. Medical laboratories are about accuracy all upper management care about was how fast the work got done not the accuracy. Watch out for those spy cameras and you will also be asked to spy on your fellow employees.

    Advice to Management

Best place to work is about the spirit of it, not about punishing a manager by an executive because of the review the manager received. Don't act like a police state. Don't punish your employees for doing a good job. Don't make promises you can't keep.

    Pros

Paid time off , seniority is not a factor.

    Cons

Very difficult to get the time off you need. After loosing my position with Quest Diagnostics I can't find full-time employment which has left me very bitter with them (You Might say I'm Spitting Fire).

    Advice to Management

    Get new management

    Pros

Laboratory diagnostic industry is a huge field and every medical facility needs the services.

    Cons

Quest lacked an infrastructure in Virginia and placed sales reps in a strong LabCorp market required strong infrastructure and entry points for patients to experience our labs - they weren't there so it was near impossible to build traction. Invest in the business or stay out of the market.

    Advice to Management

Lip service was a big problem, we were always going to get what we needed but it never materialized.
