    Creating hardships

Interoffice Phlebotomist (Current Employee) Winchester, VA

ProsGood pay and benefits insurance is decent

ConsPoor upper Management no advancement available poor communication from management now that quest bought Solstas they are closing sites and not giving employees options comparable to what their previous site was. Employees are being forced to drive hours to keep their job. They are forcing people to quit because they have nowhere to put them they are trying to get out of paying unemployment to those employees. Work/life balance is out of the question. They are always short staffed and have no coverage for you when you need a day off for your kids.

Advice to Senior ManagementLeave and find a new job in a field that is better suited for you because most of you could care less about the employees under you.

Changes but not for the better

    Phlebotomist (Current Employee) Midwest, WY

ProsCoworkers, great immediate supervisor, that's about all

ConsPoor morale amongst frontline employees, burnt out employees, corperate shows no respect for frontline employees, it's all about the stock holders, not sure if problems are at the top level or middle management, whichever, they don't seem to care or value their employees, a lot of good, experienced workers have either been let go or found new jobs

Advice to Senior ManagementAcknowledge and address the morale issues, realize the frontline workers can only do so much, quality of services has been replaced with quantity of service

    Heavy-handed, cold corporate culture.

    Medical Courier (Current Employee)

ProsNone that I can think of, except that being a courier in general gets you out of the office and away from most of the corporate nonsense.

ConsExcessively over-micromanaged and treated couriers like kindergarten children. Encouraged to find new account leads for the sales reps as a great way to make bonuses which ended up being extra work generated for nothing as the leads from couriers were consistently ignored or never paid. A simple small mistake would lead to an overblown interrogation and/or firing as was the way nearly every courier left the company, by the terrible consequences of a slight human error.

    Supervisors too far removed

    Anonymous (Current Employee)

ProsWork location. Healthcare. Medical laboratory. Some outstanding employees. Benefits. Diverse workforce. Working here is like working at the United Nations.

ConsSupervisors who can't or won't work the bench depend on their favorites to tell them what's going on at work/what's involved in getting the work done. The stories they're told are slanted to make the favorites look overworked or more productive than the non-favored ones. Or the favorites will say the work is more complex/manual than it really is to ensure continued inflated FTE ratios. Workloads are not equivalent. These supervisors will listen to their favorites. They're missing out on getting other work perspectives.

Advice to Senior ManagementWalk in my shoes one day to get a clear picture of what goes on at work. You'll see frustrations galore and countless opportunities for improving the workflow.

    Very Challenging

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe people that work here are some of the most dedicated, hard working people I have ever met! It makes the workday go much faster.

ConsAs a member of their leadership team I found the job challenging in and of itself. You seem to have more work than the day will allow for regardless of how well organized you are. I can appreciate the need to do more with less given our economy, however, management seemed to want to make the job harder than it needed to be. Also, very long hours. I would start my day at 4 am and still be in meetings at 7pm. That was the norm.

Advice to Senior ManagementLook at life / work balance.

    Wishing for better

Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Current Employee) San Juan Capistrano, CA

ProsThe stressful working conditions force staff work together effectively. The staff members are an amazing group of individuals.

ConsPoorly trained management creates a very stressful work environment. Supervisors are not trained and have no experience in the sections they oversee. Favoritism, harassment, and discrimination is commonplace at this lab. Opportunities for advancement and new training are only for the favored. Employment elsewhere is strongly recommended.

    Advice to Senior ManagementPlease quit.

    Unprofessional work environment lacking leadership

Human Resources Administrative (Former Employee) Tampa, FL

ProsIf your desperate for a paycheck and not looking for something long term then get in and get out.

ConsPoor leadership and professionalism by management and inexperienced reports... unapproachable, unprofessional and just horribly rude. Management is a push over turning a death ear on multitude of complaints. individuals that are supposed to be leading the team in and causing several employees new, seniored and temps to leave and not stay.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a grip on the and manage. Set accountability standards through constant coaching, documenting and rating reviews. Stet leadership classes in place. Management needs to take a more proactive approach and really start managing and listening to the employees. They already know they have lost good talent and will continue to do so if they don't get a handle. You would never believe that the Human Resources dept. would tolerate such unprofessionalism by there own people that they put in place to represent HR.

    More disturbing actions

Laboratory Technician (Current Employee) Teterboro, NJ

ProsUsed to be a great place just because of the benies. That's all gone now. They work is intense, which I enjoy. But that only goes so far.

ConsNow they want you to verify your dependents. Give them your marriage license AND tax returns. When does this abuse end?

Advice to Senior ManagementWatch out. There will be mass defection to your competitors. But you probably don't care. You'll print your silly magazine telling the world how everyone just loves working for Quest. But the truth is...............
