    Pros

Most co-workers are similarly dissatisfied, so it's easy to find someone to complain to or commiserate in your misery. Everyone starts off with 15 days TOP (time off paid) which increases to 20 days after 1 yr. Keep in mind this includes sick days and personal days. The company only has 6 paid holidays per yr.

    Cons

Strange corporate culture - either you're been there more than 20 yrs, or less than 2 yrs. Not too much flexibility - for example even if you come in early, you can't leave early. Working from home is possible with the right manager, but generally not available for everyone even with laptops. Even though Quest is in the health industry, health insurance for employees are a joke - the "best" health plan has a $1500 deductible. As long as you sit at your desk, even if you're on your phone and shopping online all day, as long as you're a good bullshitter you can keep your job.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on how to grow the company organically instead of through acquisition. There should be more focus on growing the company, instead of cutting costs to meet numbers. There's a reason customers are running to LabCorp - when they go to a LabCorp PSC, there's a receptionist, phlebotomist, and billing person (3 people). When you go to a Quest PSC, there's a long wait time because there's only 1 phlebotomist picking up the phone, checking in patients, drawing blood, and verifying insurance paperwork.

    Pros

It was close to my home. It gave me some work experience to put on my resume. I proved to myself that I can work anywhere after this experience and survive. If you are thinking of taking a temp job, pick another company.

    Cons

The workers do as they please, and management is ineffective. There is no guidance or training as a contract worker. No support was given to me when I was bullied by permanent employees. Peers were unfriendly and unwilling to help a new person feel welcome.

    Advice to Management

Although you are working to automate all testing, don't let your departments run unchecked on auto pilot. The employees there don't respect you. The leadership is non existent. Best of luck.

    Pros

    Insurance, time off, coworkers, overtime

    Cons

    Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive...

Unorganized, supervisors do not know how to assays are ran, no communication skills from supervisors. Play blame game instead of taking fault. Lazy employees that are set in their ways and will only do minimum amount of work to pass the 8 hours. No room for advancement or growth. CLS license required if you want to move up.

    Advice to Management

Have supervisors take accredited management classes and retrained yearly. CLS's need to be retrained yearly with classes. Take notice of the people doing the assays and making the production run smoothly. Be more appreciative to non licensed employees and CLS's. Have CLS's take yearly exams to refresh what they know (not just pay the state fees to renew their license)

    Pros

I only work here because i have been here a long time.

    Cons

The morale in IT is at an all time low. 90% of IT has been outsourced to Wipro and they are incompetent.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to start focusing on employees. MBA 101 happy employees equals happy customers, which equals happy shareholders.

    Pros

The only pro would be your co-workers who hate the place as much as you do.

    Cons

No promotions, no raises, benefits have been reduced to ridiculous and potential financial ruin for their employees. No profit sharing for the masses all profits given to CEO and upper management.
I have been an employee for a very long time. Have been through many acquisitions. Being with Quest has been a study in how not to treat employees. They don't care about the patients they care about their profits.

    Advice to Management

They should start looking at the CEO of Starbucks to see how people should be treated and perhaps it would then become the company it claims to be.

    Pros

    Listen to music throughout shift.

    Cons

Very overworked with mandatory overtime every day (two+ hours)
No real feedback other than weekly typing speed and accuracy
Impossible to get time off/must put in vacation request in September for the entire following calendar year and you will rarely get a day off approved.
Company does not value employees' personal lives/poor work/life balance, as Data Entry department works around 50 hours a week or more.
    No room for movement.
Company plays favorites and supervisors will get weeks off at a time while hourly employees cannot get one single requested day off.

    Advice to Management

Provide more feedback other than placing a sheet in employees folders with their production accomplishments.
Don't put your employees below you, that is a good way for them to be unsatisfied in the work place.
If an employee has an off week with lower typing scores, don't make them feel shunned as if you are disappointed in them.

    Pros

Fairly ok insurance once you've been there 90 days. Thorough training for new hires, which is 2 weeks long for full-time.

    Cons

Lots of overtime, occurrences for being sick even with a Dr.'s note, not a good environment for pregnant women, hard to talk with supervisors since they are never around.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with over time, don't say "some" and then add 16 hours mandatory.
