I have been working at Quiksilver full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The people I work with are great. The general atmosphere is fine. It has been a good place for me.

    Cons

For the most part i have none. There is limited parking. Other than that everything is decent.

I have been working at Quiksilver full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed environment, friendly co-workers, discount on clothes, generally a good company to work for.

    Cons

The future of Quiksilver is very shaky. They are not doing that great financially. Too many senior management changes. There are layoffs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the employees know well ahead in advance the direction of the company so they are not caught by surprise.

I have been working at Quiksilver as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is so much fun and everyone is super approachable and nice. People will be wearing sweatshirts to meetings and surf during their lunch breaks.

    Cons

For an intern there was not always a ton to do, but it depends on your department

I worked at Quiksilver part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Training, relaxed atmosphere, friendly co-workers, great merchandise, flexible hours, employee discount

    Cons

Location could've been better, mall rats (kids) being disrespectful, not enough people coming in despite great merchandise that led to store liquidation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better/ smarter advertising, come up with more city-friendly designs for your customers that aren't near the beach, fix the store layout (lights, fixtures, etc.) because it gives off a very dull AND cluttered feeling, offer more promotions

I worked at Quiksilver full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

life lessons, great staff, keeping the stoke alive, ohana and aloha. Lasting teams. Training is great, sets you up for great success after you leave the company. Lasting friendships. Great discount

    Cons

poor pay, lack of direction from corpo, not to mention all the new corpo people coming in from all kinds of other brands not even in the surf field. Yes they look great on paper, but once they step into the world of quik they see and feel how different it is and dont follow up on what they have been brought in for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

KNOW YOUR ROOTS, just because bob left should not mean we turn our backs on what he started, listen to the ohana and keep the wave strong. Utilize the well experienced managers and support managers in the stores. The ones who truly preach OHANA and take it with them and give it out everyday.
