    Pros

    Great people, there is almost always someone there to help you when you have questions. They tend to usually work the schedule around other commitments that employees have except during during busy season

    Cons

    They do not pay attention to problems that arise between employees and management at times and sometimes management involves itself in the problem and makes it worst. They are not big on seniority as the company has fired people that have worked here for more then 8 years. And it's a very repetitive job with little to no chance of moving up in the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay attention to the problems that people have in the comany. Make it easier for people to raise problems that they may be having by ensuring that managers act as managers and not trying to make problems worst for employees.

    I have been working at RSA Group

    Pros

    I have been 10 years with RSA based in 5 different countries in America and Europe. It is a great place to work despite the latest problems of the company. I think the worse already passed

    Cons

    The problems of the last year with Ireland and UK make the company a bit unstable specially for those working in emerging markets. It is a shame all Central and Eastern Europe had to disappear. It seems the new management have it all under control now

    Keep attention on emerging markets as there will be the opportunities for the company to grow globally in the future.

    decent people, flex-time, sports and social club. good work life balance.

    Cons

    very long pay freeze, ambition rather than aptitude mistaken for lot's of senior roles, so lot's of monkey's doing the wrong roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    HR need to improve drastically. Lack of correct info at all levels, lots of mistakes made. No-one ever held accountable in HR.

    Good managers, best place to come for a few years to get training then leave to command good salary increase in the insurance market ;)

    Low pay, promised the world nothing forthcoming.

    Nice, new office
    Some co-workers add to the ambience
    Possibility to do some OT
    Not bad for a little while out of university

    Cons

    Leaders are largely incompetent, not helpful
    No chances to further yourself
    Pay is bad for the amount of work you do
    They fire employees who have been here 10+ years due to "restructuring"
    Feedback we give leads to nothing
    Everybody is looking for jobs elsewhere, understandably
    Good work goes unrecognized
    Very "cliquey"
    The few and far between higher positions are given to external candidates

    Promote from within
    Recognize good work
    Allow for higher compensation or commission
    Offer chance to further yourself
    Stop promoting your unqualified friends

    Benefits (it's an insurance company
    Brand new office in downtown location
    Co-workers
    It's a 300 year old company and looks decent on a resume

    Cons

    The pay is poor for what we have to deal with
    Team leaders are largely incompetent
    Few chances for progression
    No coaching since I've been here
    Good work is not recognized
    They're not afraid to fire people who have been here for 10+ years
    The few positions that open up are given to external candidates

    Don't shove your corporate culture down our throats

    Pros

    The people are friendly and hardworking, with a great will to get things done.

    Cons

    IT is shockingly poor, from over reliance on expensive contractor organisations, to a lack of strategic direction, to overly complicated and costly governance processes, to using outdated productivity software (lotus notes? ie6? Windows 2007?) the list goes on. Procurement processes are overly complicated and hamstring innovation. Difficult to reward staff other than through year HR governed pay rises (if they come), difficult to scale teams with extra staff due to recruitment processes. I've been here a year and a half and change has been slow. We seem to be good at reorgs and downsizing, but not deep, lasting and effective change.

    Please listen to your level 3 and 4 staff, make the entire organisation more agile, and we may be a success.

    Pros

    Flexible working hours if your are on the correct contract and they are trying to change and grow.

    Cons

    Constant risk of redundancy. No ways to progress unless you know the right people. Overworked and underpaid in relation to the rest of the market, generally going down hill. They have no loyalty to staff unless you are in the 'in crowd'

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I used to be proud to work for RSA not anymore. Please listen to level 5's and 6. Managers and higher up have their heads in the clouds and have no idea what the real world is like hence no growth.
