    Pros

Ability to learn and grow in a fun environment. Managers care and are willing to work with you on schedules and projects.

    Cons

It can be frustrating at times due to much disorganization. Different departments are sometimes working on similar projects leading to inefficiency. Training is provided to a certain level, but there is no structured training for advanced topics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Rackspace is going to differentiate itself from competitors based on support, then the support floor needs to be more valued instead of being treated like "people who barely made it through community college" as I've heard people say.

    Pros

Great mix of motivated, creative people all wanting to build greatness. Relaxed culture but that doesn't imply lazy or unfocused. Constant drive to evolve, a winners attitude and enough passion to float a ship. Senior leaders are doing all the right things strategically and all other levels of leadership pulling in the same direction. Constantly growing in size and visibly "growing up" into a fun corporate.

    Cons

Suffered from misaligned strategy in the past, some catching up to do. Suffering from teenage "coming of age issues", should pass in a few years with strong parenting (leadership). A lot of employee movement within the business, as well as into and out of the company. Great for job seekers but the constant churn is can be concerning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to stay in touch with all levels of the business, ignore the small pain points and continue to chase the big ones.

    Cons

Too many meetings; heavy middle management; compensation seems lower than average; environment can be distracting if you are not a people-person

    Pros

The people are fantastic. Real human beings. Learning per moment is the highest pretty much anywhere, including start-ups. It's a great place to work if you love change.

    Cons

The two cons are A) the place has an excessively high rate of change. If you eat change for lunch, this place is for you. However, B) the culture of individual heroics means that "Rackers" don't tend to get rewarded for preventing problems, developing essential processes, or being operationally excellent except in pockets. As a result, there's a lot of "dive & save" kinds of activities, far more than necessary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have some amazing unsung heroes, Rackers who are behind the scenes making the company great. Find them. Reward them. Figure out how to keep them.

The diversity and Family and friends atmosphere is one of the best assets of this company

Current Employee - Space Planner in San Antonio, TX

    Pros

They have flexible work times and schedules and they take the time to educate you on upcoming or previous products.

    Cons

Some rackers feel a bit to "at home" and they don't take care a lot of the furniture and things that are given to them. Some areas of the castle are really dirty, messy, and has a funky smell..

    Pros

The culture is what keeps me here-it's one of a kind
The people and friendships I have made here are lifelong
The perks you get for being an employee such as the gym, free food (there's food all the time, get ready to add some pounds!)
It's easy to change careers and learn new things!

    Cons

So many changes... You need to get used to changes, if you need stability in terms of a manager, or job duties, this company is not for you.

too top down heavy-hire the right people and promote those that have the skills. Invest more in the people, development and training is extremely important.
