    Radiant Systems Review

Process Engineer (Current Employee) Nashville, TN

ProsPrompt with pay, easy to communicate with via e-mail

ConsRecruiters do not speak English very well, rates are not as competitive as other companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementTeach your recruiters to speak better English or hire people in the US and not India.

Don't expect much progress in your career

    Analyst (Current Employee) Alpharetta, GA

ProsMoney is reasonably good but not great. Vacation is better than average. Casual work environment.

ConsCareer advancement is tough. It's who you know not how good you are that will get you a promotion. Accomplishments are rarely acknowledged.

Fast paced, with lots of daily challenges and opportunities to move outside of "your box"

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Alpharetta, GA

ProsRadiant is a large company with a small company mentality. Not a lot of structure for individual jobs - you'll love it if you like freedom to make improvements where you see fit, you'll hate it if you need a lot of structure and direction.

ConsVery hard to promote within this company. Leadership is a very tight knit group, and like many other companies, it's who you know more than what you do that gets you promoted.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinuously seek out opportunities to make Radiant the best place to work - not just strive to be on par with other companies.

Not a terrible place, could be better

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Fort Worth, TX

ProsTime off is good, not tons of overtime is required. Direct management is willing to be flexible with work schedule. Some working from home is allowed.

ConsSalary is low after working there for many years, but that may be common for other places as well too.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep your employees up to market on their salaries, even if they have been with the company for years. Deadlines should have developer input before being set.

Overall a good place to work

Client Support Technician (Current Employee) Dallas, TX

    ProsAlways challenging
    Never boring
    Most ideas are considered
Management tries to fit the best person for the job when promoting

ConsThe downside of the above happens when you get a little seniority and the guy who just stepped in the door is promoted ahead of you.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe a little more transparent in your promotions.
How are employees supposed to know what to strive for if we don't know why people are chosen for projects, promotions, etc

    Best days behind?

Senior Support Technician (Former Employee) Alpharetta, GA

ProsLimited responsibilities, not asked to work overtime, predictable schedules, some opportunities for career growth and decent communication with peers and management.

ConsCompany seems a bit stagnant and stock is not much of an incentive. Not a lot of innovative thinking taking place.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind a way to expand growth beyond the same model that has been out there for 15 years so that shareholders can reap some benefits and provide the capital needed to invest in innovative technology.

Mixed bag, as with most companies...

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Alpharetta, GA

ProsRadiant Systems has always had a fun "work hard, play hard" culture, and always lots of great people to work with in all areas of the company.

ConsI am not sure if it's the industry they're in or perhaps a lack of innovative leadership, but I get the impression that they will not ever succeed in generating any real and dramatic growth (i.e., not just buying other companies) and shareholder value.

Advice to Senior ManagementDeal with the individuals not pulling their weight. It is always easier to move them to a different project/department than to have a hard conversation and/or part ways with them. But in doing so you are doing the company (and these individuals) a disservice by not being forthright.
