    I worked at RadioShack full-time

    Pros

Technology meets sales, decent hourly pay for a student plus commission and growth into management is easy.

    Cons

The company only wants to sell phones and plans but will delude you into thinking there's more to it then that. There's a limit to your growth so gain some experience but don't make it a career

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If mobile is what you care about then get rid of all the extra overhead because the mix message confuses costumers

I have been working at RadioShack full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, good managers, great spiffs. Usually make more than 12$ an hour as a regular associate. Vacations, Sick days, paid personal days. Insurance. Always room to rank up!

    Cons

    Micromanaged.
Very forceful about phone sells. (yes phone sells make the most money; however, it turns away some customers.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let employees express who they are and allow them to work their specialty. Pay more spiff for items that make more money (Batteries, RS and auvio items) Encourage employees to want to push our product!

I worked at RadioShack part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Co-workers were probably the best part of the job. You get a discount off of their merchandise, and you get to learn different strategies of selling.

    Cons

Sometimes the hours were scarce for some people. Sometimes there was un-realistic goals that had to be met.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to stress out the people that work for your company with goals that cannot be accomplished.

I have been working at RadioShack full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I've been here for 11 months now and I have just been promoted to MIT (Manager In Training) Let me tell you, it's been one heck of a ride so far. You learn about providing excellent customer service, electronics, and the wireless industry. After you get through the drudgery of learning everything, work becomes fun. The awesome customers you will meet will make it all worth the while. Having a good manager is important, my old manager was a burnout and once he left and I got a new manager who knew what she was doing, I started selling several phones, and work become fun. So its all about having a good manager and a competent staff. If you come to work with a positive attitude every day and you are motivated then you will sell phones, get promoted, grow as a person and have fun in the process

    Cons

Starting pay is very low and even after moving up, it still isn't very good. The Radioshack NSA learning program does not prepare you very well for actually tackling day to day inquiries that customers have. Also their wireless simulations for activating Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T phones aren't accurate and they do not show you how to sell phones

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start implementing the New York concept store nationwide
