    I worked at Raley's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly, professional, active environment, entry level pay is above minimum. Clear policies and hands on training for specific department. Offers direct deposit and benefits. Plenty of hours and shifts.

    Cons

Managers not interested in cross training employees in other departments, for purpose of transferring positions. Schedule isn't always consistent. Co-workers are not kept in line with policy on customer service, positive attitude and professional demeanor. Management makes all dept. employees responsible for any other employees "called in" shift even though employee is full time, not on call.

    Pros

Works around my schedule. Great health benefits if needed

    Cons

Low pay, sometime the demand of the job is to much with out a lot of help from management

    Advice to Management

Pay people what they are worth, stop promoting people who will just "do the job"

    I worked at Raley's full-time

    Pros

Raley's has great benefits, wonderful employee team, and the ability to advance within the company to have a long time career.

    Cons

Raley's had to cut back staff in order to compete with lower cost supermarkets, this has created overworked and stressed employees. The expectation of the exceptional customer service has not changed.

    Advice to Management

Spend some time educating the employees as to why certain changes are being made and get their input on how it can be done effectively. Quite a few of the employees have been with the company for a long time and may have some great ideas.

    Pros

Great colleagues throughout the chain makes it fun to work. SOME management teams are great motivating and inspiring to team members. They can help you advance and be successful.

    Cons

No growth a long time. Wages have been stagnate and while they promote advancement in wages it will take 10 years to get to $16 an hour. Benefits are good but only worth while after 5 years. The union is not what is was and adversity between management and the union has team members caught in between.

    Advice to Management

Reward your team leads, $0.50 more an hour is not compensation for the job. Take down some hurdles for the new team members to advance on the wage scale. Too many good people leave to make more at other employers as entry level positions.

    Pros

Work around school schedules, closed on Saturdays, leniency with sick calls or late punches, fun and hard working coworkers, decent pay steps/raises, decent benefits.

    Cons

Open on Sundays, strange rules and procedures, no clear training guidelines, questionable ethics, no bonuses or recognition, terrible operating hours, dirty work environment, no chance to move up, nonsensical scheduling and worst of all, poor management.

    Advice to Management

Make correct schedules at least 2 weeks in advance, have clear training guidelines, stop with rules and procedures, learn to give credit to those where credit is due.

    Pros

Good opportunity for kids in high school & college

    Cons

Currently people have been frozen at step 7 which is 12 $ an hour. Some people have been stuck here over 2 years. Next step is 13.98 $ an hour. I'm certainly ready for my next step raise.

  9. Wages are supposed to be frozen but certain employees get them while I still make the same.

    Pros

    Insurance, good people, great customers

    Cons

Request a day off, get denied. Also my doctors note was ignored.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites. Unfreeze the wages for everyone not just certain people. Also show more compassion for your employees. We make the company.

    Pros

    Fast paced, benefits, flexible schedule

    Cons

Under paid employees, hard to get promoted

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more. Courtesy clerks should Atleast get paid $10/hr starting and clerks starting at $11/ he. Your employees work hard and are under paid.
