    Great company to work for!

Project Manager II (Former Employee) Waltham, MA

ProsI massively enjoyed my time at Raytheon. Another opportunity outside defense took me away, but I would consider going back as it is a great work environment with a lot of upward potential.

ConsI honestly can't think of anything negative to say. Large organizations move a bit more slowly than smaller companies, however that is to be expected.

Good company with many very hard working people

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsFlextime, good salary and benefits, very nice people to work with. Very interesting work

ConsManagement is continually badgered by the customer to do more with less. Also management gets saddled with much government mandated accounting gimmicks like Six Sigma, which is not appropriate for much of the mission involving research and development.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement does the best they can in spite of the pressures by the customer. No advice.

I could work here my whole career.

Senior Systems Engineer II (Current Employee) Tucson, AZ

ProsFor a large organization, it is clear that there is still a sense of community. Employees care about respecting one another (those that don't are shunned!) and people just want to make a solid product. It's a great company for an engineer and the more you get involved the more it will give back to you.

ConsThe economic environment has management driving for more efficiencies constantly and sometimes it doesn't let an engineer spend as much time on a problem as he might like.

Technical Support Engineer (Former Employee) El Paso, TX

ProsThe people need to do there best and make the best place to work safely

Consextra long hours and short time to complete some jobs

Advice to Senior ManagementStart the work before the start date, and recheck with venders to ensure the products can be received on time and if not, the same product can be used to standards. keep in mind that paint is not just paint and safety is full time.

    Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer (Current Employee) McKinney, TX

ProsGreat company with great products and challenging technical work. Enjoyed working there as an electrical engineer.

ConsWould have liked to seen more of a technical ladder. Management tended to be very program centric. Sometimes hard to move between programs.

Advice to Senior ManagementWell run organizations.

    Great turn around under Swanson.

Engineer (Current Employee) El Segundo, CA

ProsLots of opportunities for those willing to embrace change.

ConsLacks cohesive underlying culture or branding. Long term efforts to support STEM education are starting to make headways, but overall, still lacking.

Advice to Senior ManagementSeems like there are lots of disjoint efforts to imitate companies that have strong culture/branding in the eyes of media/the public. However, these disjoint efforts are coming across like desparate attempts at imitation. Need some real top down leadership to correct this.
