    Pros

Good pay Great atmosphere Benefits are awesome

    Cons

Not much room for advancement not a terribly challenging job Management doesn't understand processes and procedures, but tries to inform you how to do a job they couldn't.

I have been working at Redbox (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Basically make your own schedule, company car, a TON of vacation days, watching movies before they are released, most importantly...great people to work for who truly care about their employees. Job is perfect for anyone looking for an easy job.

    Cons

Some issues would be that there is no real room for advancement or department change if you do not live in Oak Brook, Illinois. Basically you only have merchandisers (FSR1), techs (FSR2) and the manager (ROS) in any market. If you want to do something outside of the field, you will either have to move or find a new job.

    Advice to Management

No adivice, I can understand why the business is the way it is.

    I worked at Redbox full-time

    Pros

Progressive company that values employee engagement and interest. Management listens to the base level employees for suggestions and thoughts

    Cons

Things are not discussed very freely from the top-levels downward. When decisions are made the rationale behind the decision is often kept quiet, causing confusion and distrust

    Advice to Management

Develop a more transparent environment. Be careful of overreacting when decisions are made. rules may go from to loose to overly stringent, causing distrust.

    Pros

Good work life balance, competitive pay, free movie & game rentals, solid benefits. Really love the people that work there, a great team.

    Cons

Leadership is very disconnected and vision & goals are constantly changing, making it difficult to feel passionate about the business and our individual roles.

    Advice to Management

Morale is low because of unkept promises and constantly pivoting vision for the company. Consistency, follow-through and rewarding your best employees should help that.

    Pros

Redbox culture is in transition from matured start up to corporate. That being said it is and will never be the stuffy environment most old school work environments will be. It is a comfortable environment with many motivated and intelligent people. There are opportunities to grow and a flexible work environment allows you to work hard and still have some work life balance.

    Cons

Redbox is still less than 15 years old so there has been a decent amount of change from year to year. Some of the decisions by the upper management in recent years have not always worked in the companies favor and it has been the cause for re-orgs and budget shifts. While the company is still successful, it is sometimes hard to see a long term career in such a volatile environment. In the short term, it is great to get some experience, work with great people and have short term successes.

    Advice to Management

Expand the product offering and find a course everyone can get behind. Stick with it and drive the company in a true direction.
