  1. With the change in management, the culture and overall feel of being valued has changed for the worst.

I have been working at Redbox

    Pros

Good work life balance, competitive pay, free movie & game rentals, solid benefits. Really love the people that work there, a great team.

    Cons

Leadership is very disconnected and vision & goals are constantly changing, making it difficult to feel passionate about the business and our individual roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Morale is low because of unkept promises and constantly pivoting vision for the company. Consistency, follow-through and rewarding your best employees should help that.

I have been working at Redbox

    Pros

Redbox culture is in transition from matured start up to corporate. That being said it is and will never be the stuffy environment most old school work environments will be. It is a comfortable environment with many motivated and intelligent people. There are opportunities to grow and a flexible work environment allows you to work hard and still have some work life balance.

    Cons

Redbox is still less than 15 years old so there has been a decent amount of change from year to year. Some of the decisions by the upper management in recent years have not always worked in the companies favor and it has been the cause for re-orgs and budget shifts. While the company is still successful, it is sometimes hard to see a long term career in such a volatile environment. In the short term, it is great to get some experience, work with great people and have short term successes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand the product offering and find a course everyone can get behind. Stick with it and drive the company in a true direction.

Good place to work. environment positive to be around. easy to lean procedures

    Cons

I worked at Redbox full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great leadership from the top down. If you get work done on time you never hear from corporate. I received 3 weeks vacation right from the start and two bonuses a year by achieving my metrics.

    Cons

In my area (Montana) there was a lot of traveling because of servicing kiosks that were so far apart that you did put in some long days and even weeks. Especially during the winter months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Had a very good rapport with management, very approachable and helped to resolve any difficulties that you faced on the job.

    I worked at Redbox full-time

    Pros

Relaxed culture not a suit kind of organization. Good culture of open door policy.

    Cons

Executive leadership is disengaged with most levels below them and little to no recognition that they make a lot of changes for this large of a company and they expect the teams to accept and implement changes with little to no planning time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to engage your field leadership better and utilize their knowledge in the planning stages for major change to better understand the timeframes to implement the needed changes.
