Reebok is trying to focus and find a footing in this hyper competitive market. It's a mixed bag.

I have been working at Reebok full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Many of the non-managment employees are truly talented and hardworking. A great worklife balance in the footwear department.

    Cons

Almost comedic lack of direction and focus. Weak upper management and weaker Director level. Offen times the wrong people promoted for the wrong reasons.

Lots of layoffs - I mean 'restructuring' - over the past ten years.

    No career planning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to make the best product possible - not the best product possible for a price. Stop all of the compromises to the product and don't release something until it is ready.

    Less is more.

Create a career path to follow for each employment category.

I worked at Reebok full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Overall Fitness focus give good opportunities for a healthier environment - physically - (not mentally or socially as the brand's vision)

    Cons

Extremely male leadership who only wants yes-sayers and dont listen to other perspectives. Very american who dont listen to other cultures

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Enhance culture diversity and women. Learn how to listen to their team.

I worked at Reebok full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Working for Reebok is great for young designers looking for an opportunity. But this light bulb dims pretty quickly.

    Cons

    - The company does not embrace thinkers
    - There are too many channels to go through when trying to complete major assignments
    - The company is known for layoffs/firing for no particular reason
    - Designers are treated like statistics and not innovators
    - The design team has a quick turn around time (new designers are scouted often to keep design cost down thus creating a team of inexperienced workers)
    - No growth opportunities unless you are willing to be quiet and go along with everything asked of you, and even then there is no promise of stability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not sure how to amend these issue at Reebok.

I have been working at Reebok part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Free clothes, shoes and great discount

    Cons

    Sales, and lack of teamwork

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Do not hold a store meeting calling or pining out sales associate or other manager in from of sales associates. It's not professional

    2. Respect your workers- when you respect your workers then you shall get respect. I can't stand to see managers talk about other leaders or sales associates.

    3. Don't think that everyone who works underneath you is below you. You never know when you might need a contact for a future job application.

I worked at Reebok full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, facilities + campus. Like getting paid to go to college.

    Cons

Campus + facilities don't reflect what the brand / business actually are worth now.
Internally focused culture - more time spent making great powerpoint presentations than actually making great products.
Brand is dying a slow, painful death.

I have been working at Reebok

    Pros

Time is offered during the day to work out, killer discount, and fun events.

    Cons

Senior management changes direction on a regular basis. Timelines are set by those not close to the process, leaving a lot of work to be done by an unrealistic deadline. Very political, mangers are put in place who have zero experience in the area they are managing. View is that the the directors and senior management are to delegate while those below them actually do the work. Hard to find managers who leads by example and get their hands dirty in the everyday work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire managers who have experience and are willing to do the work. Listen to those who are actually doing the work day to day when looking for feedback and direction.
