    Pros

    Learned about the banking industry

    Cons

Hours were not flexible, management was not up to par, a lot of hostility between coworkers who have been there a very long time and new hires, everything revolved around sales and not about customer service

    Advice to Management

focus on customer service and providing a great experience for everyone versus just trying to sell products to people who don't need them.

    Pros

Loved my co-workers and the regular customers
The hours were amazing as was the holidays (with pay)

    Cons

The CONSTANT coaching sessions were overwhelming. Not only did you have one once a month with your managers but they would coach you at least three times a week in the teller line. I get that coaching is a great thing but it became a little constant and overwhelming. They also HEAVILY pushed referrals on you. Once I finally met my referral goal the pay out was so small (only about a $100). It made it not worth forcing everyone that came in to sit down with a personal banker.

    Advice to Management

Stop forcing us to ask EVERY customer for a referral. Some did not need anything else from us and it reflected poorly on our customer service.

    Pros

Set work schedule, paid time off whenever you need it, and a good number of sick days. Also gives great recognition incentives.

    Cons

Low pay and high referral quotas. It was very hard to meet those quotas, especially working drive-thru wit ppl who were already customers and always in a hurry.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your team more appropriately! The job was great with a great work atmosphere but no adult can take care of their families making the same amount of money of a college student working a part-time retail job.

    Pros

Stable company with good health benefits and decent retirement options.

    Cons

Management likes to place people in a box and leave them there. Movement from one area to another can be difficult as they don’t try to retain or develop talent on a regular basis.

    Pros

    Easy job with good coworkers.

    Cons

The manager was given her job because of who she knew, not what she knew. Was expected to do unethical things, like look at accounts to see if they had credit cards with other companies.

    Pros

Company is okay to work for. The company seems to be in growth mode and trapped in being a community bank and a large corporate bank. Overall, not a bad place to work but your pay also reflects that.

    Cons

Position is quite high in turnover. People seem to to fill the position for a year or two and then switch to larger banks for better pay. I feel Regions highly underpays for the position and could do a better job with compensation but being a regional bank, they have higher cost of funds.

    Advice to Management

Increase the 401k match. Only 4% match dollar for dollar and an additional 2% match depending on company performence.

    Pros

Paid vacation and bank holidays, family like corporate culture, emphasis on charity to the extent that they offer a paid day off every year to go do volunteer work.

    Cons

I work in sales and the new sales manager is terrible to work for. That's the reason I'm leaving the company. Also, the company stands on policy like it is gospel. Regions Bank cares more about policy than doing what is right and will choose bureaucracy over good business any day.

    Advice to Management

Update sales quotas, referral quotas, move Area 5's CSM to another position because he is ill suited for that position.
