I have been working at Regis Corporation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

i realy cant think of a pro. Ive had nothing but issues with this company since i started there. Thats why they have a high turnover with stylist. If you can sell thousands of dollars a month in extra services and retail you will do fine here. They will value you if you can achieve the ridiculous goals they set for your salon. They will even tolerate you stealing and altering your timecard as long as you can sell sell sell for them. But if your an honest person trying to do the right thing you are not valued at all. There mission statement is a joke because they dont follow it.

    Cons

Pay rate is horrible and commission is a joke. I advised those that are stylist to stay away. Nine out of ten stylists are miserable there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know what your talking about before you advise your stylist. District leaders should be there to help the stylists not yell at them.

    Pros

Only two good things, Good customers , great way to build then leave and take them with you!!!!!

    Cons

They fire and hire back the same stylist that are rude and don't like to work. Hours are crap and the pay scale sucked. if you want to build start here and then leave after 2 years. In the 80's they cared about their stylist but now it is all about QUANITY NOT QUALITY!!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

DO AS YOU SAID NOT AS YOU DO......PAY YOUR STYLIST MORE AND TREAT THEM LIKE PEOPLE .. PERHAPS YOU SHOULD STAND BEHIND THE CHAIR ALL DAY AND SEE HOW HARD THEY WORK...THEN YOU CAN JUDGE..........

    Pros

Walk in clients, health insurance, incentive points

    Cons

upper management has no idea how to do hair most of the time, or they are out of touch with stylists needs. They won't hesitate to step on you to get ahead. Aaaaaaand don't ever think you are having a private call. Because they will share and give you up when you asked to remain anonymous.
Pretty much it isn't worth the headache to work here. They don't care about you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to do hair. Listen to what we need. And optimized schedules Do not work

I worked at Regis Corporation full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Will hire anyone with a license, reguardless of skills.
    Located everywhere
    Good products to work with.

    Cons

You have to work nights and you have to work weekends per corporate. This company only cares about the numbers. Pay scale is designed to make Regis money. Corporate promises raises, but doesn't come through, only strings you along. Screws you out of vacation pay. Guaranteed pay is only minimum wage, and is frowned upon and could get you let go and I've seen people get talked into quitting so they wouldn't have to fire so they wouldn't have to pay unemployment. I would never advise someone to work at any Regis location or any of their other salons. They are the most greedy company I have ever worked for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advise to take a course in ethics.

    I worked at Regis Corporation

    Pros

The technical staff was very friendly and easy to work with. They want to do a good job. The company provides free lunch food though many employees go out.

    Cons

Managers did not hesitate to lie. They used software illegally. The CEO receives a large bonus that does not depend on how well the company does.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire, don't fire, the people who understand the business.

I have been working at Regis Corporation full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

I really do not have many positive things to say anymore...new policies and protocols in recent months have really impacted the overall working experience here

    Cons

    Where to start?
poor commission pay, expensive benefits, no incentive for long term employees, not enough staff, turning away clientel, optimized scheduling worst idea ever for walk in salons, poor management if any at all, micromanagement from higher ups, no set schedule for stylists with clientel, working every weekend, no accomadations or flexibilty with scheduling, unsafe working conditions, ect....ect...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come into some salons, stand behind a chair, work alone in a salon...just for one day....Improve the scheduling system because all the market analysis and research you did was a waste of time figuring out your new "optimized scheduling"...it doesnt work in a walk in salons..You will never generate new business by having one stylist on shift, turning 15 to 20 people a shift away because of long wait times...LISTEN to your stylists as we are the ones working hard making YOU money!! Give some better incentives to work for you because after 10 years of this nonsense (as a manager and stylist) Im ready to walk WITH my clientel that I earned and brought into YOUR business!

I have been working at Regis Corporation part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

none really. i witnessed my boss book appointments for stylists who were not comfortable doing highlights and from the get go thats not a good time.

    Cons

only spanish speaker in the salon. ( translator) in a mall where majority of customers speak little to no english. they're giving me 3 days off i'm barely hitting 24-25 hrs a week. my boss never cancelled my insurance, she insists that "it takes a couple of checks to go through and cancel " but the year is almost over and my checks have been like 199 each because she never faxed the info to hr to cancel my benefits :( i cant live with what they pay. and less than 3 classes a year, and whenever we had an educator teach us she always talked crap about there techniques. its sad because you go to school for that crappy pay?im so glad to be leaving to a better salon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire people who can speak more than one language.

    I worked at Regis Corporation

    Pros

The only pro would be the clients are there

    Cons

Pay is horrible. You are overworked and way underpaid. They make it impossible to make more money. Absolutely no good benefits to even pay for. District leaders are untrustworthy and deceitful. Tried putting in my notice to change careers and they got rid of me instead. Never appreciates the hard work you put into it. District leaders are fake and lazy. They will use and abuse you til you are no longer needed. Working nights and weekends gives you no time to be with your family.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes and see who is really ruining your company . Its not the stylists, its the leaders.

    Pros

There is nothig good to say about this company

    Cons

This company is so jacked up it's not funny. No one in the front office has a clue. You get paid nothing for all the work you have to do. The "higher ups" do not give a darn about the real workers, the stylists, becuase they pay nothing and give nothing back in return, but want you to work hard. The district management, regiona management, and local management are not on the same page. They all say something different when it comes to protocol and what is expected of the stylists.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try working for a week, heck, a day in one of your salons and not the best ones either to see the real deal. Learn what it feels like to be behind the chair and not in your cozy offices getting the millions in stock options.
