    Pros

    Great peers and supervisor
    Lots of independence
    Continuing education and gratis
    Easy to advance (because most know better)
    Super friendly people at tech support-and you talk to them all the time. (as long as you can spare 30-60 minutes on hold)

    Cons

    No Work/Life balance
    Decisions made by individuals with no knowledge of the Beauty Industry
    Extreme cost cutting measures in place
    Constantly changing staff at home office
    Extremely high (like fast food high) turnover at salon level

    Pros

    Great people to work with, leads and supervisors very helpful. Easy work, can be frustrating, but can also be very rewarding knowing you made a stylist's day by resolving their issue.

    Cons

    Upper management doesn't seem to care, they only care about numbers. Just because somebodies numbers are "good", doesn't make them good.

    Use your talent wisely. Do not operate with an "you're replaceable" mindset.

    I worked at Regis Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Not many pros except atleast you know you will bring home a paycheck every week. You also get paid vacation which is only minimum wage. You do get free backbar and products for your station.

    Cons

    I worked at one of regis signature salons in a very upscale mall. They Still did crap that their lower end smartstyle stores do (I worked at smartstyle too) no receptionist this is suppose to be the top salon in the company. We had to play receptionist and cleaner. Go to meetings unpaid after hours.regis was even so scared about salon unions that they made us sign paperwork so we would not join a union which they later got sued for. They tried to say that we only get 5 days off a year, which was crap I had two weeks paid vacation and they were trying not to give it to me. In the end my my store had 19 stylist for only 12 stations it was a mess having to pack up each night and to make sure you didn't run late if you worked the morning shift. It just got too much I finally quit beforeI had to do another cad week which is when u work 12 hour shifts 6 days and give every client 20% off

    Pros

    At Regis you get access to deeply discounted hair products and services, and fresh fruit provided at the home office daily

    Cons

    The work environment at Regis is toxic and negative at best. The software used in many departments is way out of date which causes many interruptions and calls to IT. The IT group is so understaffed and has poor leaders which contribute to lack of process and productivity.

    I worked at Regis Corporation part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    I've heard good things about Regis, and have a lot of friends that work at some of their other chains that love it, but this one was messed up! The only pro is that I got to do the job I went to school to do.

    Cons

    Management didn't know what the heck they were doing. only 7.25/hr plus tips (you dont claim cash tips, card tips come out of your check, most people tipped on cards though). too many staff for the traffic that came in. not enough hours per person. wouldn't let me take vacation time to visit my (now husband, fiance at the time) in texas, in the air force, for more than 3 days (it takes a little over a day to actually drive here, so that'd mean spending one day with him). Also, my first week they wouldnt let me cut hair until I watched all the training videos, and they left me all alone to close at night. So they left me watching videos, and told me to turn away anyone who came in wanting a haircut because I was still training. ?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Regional managers : don't just move someone up to management because you need to fill the spot. Bring someone else who is experienced and responsible in.
    Store managers: Know what you're doing. Don't leave because you just dont want to work anymore.
    Dont have your boyfriend sitting in there with you the whole time.

    Build Speed with all types of hair services,(cuts,chemical services, styling), decent walk-in clientele depending on location, room to grow and learn

    Cons

    Immature co-workers, WEAK Regional Managers with their OWN AGENDA, low growth potential, competition for clients with other stylists, Upper management is all about THEIR bonuses and playing the blame game, constant threats that you will be "Stepped -Down" increases as bonus gets nearer to fruition...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    DON'T! No wins situations, RIDICULOUS low pay as a manager, too much is asked, maintain your own clientele, babysit stylists, get no support, multitask while doing everything else in store with constant interruptions

    Meet alot of new people. Build good clientile.Learn more about retail.

    Cons

    Not appreciated for all the hard work we do. Benefits are not good. No breaks! Does not offer hair cutting classes. Base pay is AWFUL!! Going to make a deposit to bank at 9:15 at night!

    Treat stylist better!! Need to learn how to schedule better!
