Current Employee – been working at RehabCare full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – My team is awesome and both Area Rehab Directors for whom I worked have been both responsive and effective leaders.
Cons – My company has failed to renew the leases Ann upwards of 70 buildings throughout the US and many of us will be no longer employed by our parent company -- Kindred Healthcare. This is a huge disappointment and a seeming lack of return on the loyalty I gave the company.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at RehabCare full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – One on one patient care. I enjoy working with the patients and help them return function and return home again. Variety of patient diagnoses to work with, Orthopedic, CVA, COPD, Pneumonia, general surgery, general weakness. Diverse cultural staff. Team approach.
Cons – Productivity standards are 90 % for Physical Therapist Assistants, 85% for PT's. If it is too slow, must go home early.
Advice to Senior Management – Compliment staff on what they do well.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at RehabCare
Pros – Good benefits and salary and flex time, providing for a balanced lifestyle.
Cons – Being such a large corporation, sometimes you feel like dollars come before people.
Advice to Senior Management – Think more about client centered practice, not just about how many billable minutes are needed to earn a profit. This is obviously a challenge given that making money is how the company stays out of the red and offers the salary and pay it does to employees. Unfortunately, I do not always see a lot of focus on how to plan for this while taking into consideration what is best for clients.

Current Employee – been working at RehabCare
Pros – RehabCare offers flexible scheduling, which is great for parents who need time off for sick children and school holidays etc.
Cons – To much emphasis on put on productivity as opposed to patient care. Management staff not always available for communication, and it seems some employees are allowed to do what ever they want, while others really work hard to do their jobs professionally.

Current Employee – been working at RehabCare
Pros – Great Benefits, Productivity Bonus, Good amount of PTO, Flexible schedule, Approachable Rehab Director (varies by location) and awesome coworkers.
Cons – Making money often takes precedence over a patient's need, (or lack thereof) for therapy. Published productivity requirements are 85%, however 100% or moreis expected. This is not always feasible.
Advice to Senior Management – Let the therapists determine if a patient is appropriate for therapy, not the patient's payor source. Just because a patient is a Part A, does not meant they need 48 minutes of therapy from each of the three therapy diciplines.
