    Pros

Successful Company. Industry leader. Hardworking and loyal employees. Good pay, excellent benefits.

    Cons

RGA is an Underwriting SWEATSHOP. Pure and simple- make no mistake about it. Underwriters are expected to sacrifice personal lives- evenings, weekends, holidays, time with family, health, well-being and even PTO in order to meet overwhelming workload demands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get a better idea.

    Pros

Opportunities to do good, interesting work, learn a lot, and build on existing capabilities, both your own and the co's. Smart folks. Potential to shape your own job and improve the co's future. Telecommuting ok, within reason.

    Cons

Corp. culture highly political, Darwinian. Lots of extremely polite backbiting and jockeying for position at high levels. Institutionalized disrespect for associates with less than five years / lower than VP. Gets in the way of getting the work done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Scrap the politics and politicians. Cultivate and reward true initiative, excellence and merit.
