    I loved working for them. The only reason I didn't go back was because I had a baby and you work long hours & great pay.

    ProsYou get a lot of experience here in many fields, kind of like tele-marketing, sales, register experience and most of all, I enjoyed working with the public.

    ConsThe most hardest thing here is hitting your numbers. If you don't reach the desired goal of the company, they will get rid of you. On the other hand, if you work hard at it, you can do it.

    Advice to Senior ManagementMy only advice would be to cut down on the hours and maybe share the work load between 2 people instead of putting it all on one person. It is a very stressful job....although I enjoyed it and I really miss it. My last year worked was 04-2006.

    Not for everyone, but for some (mainly single or wanting to be single people) Awesome

    District Manager In Training (Former Employee)

    ProsAllows you to take out your pent up aggression on someone's front door on a Saturday morning
    Employee discount/weekly withdrawal from check
    Lots of cash deals on repossessions
    Great pay for a poor economic time (you pay for it though... see below)

    ConsNo work life balance (48 was minimum for entry level and that becomes 60-72 for advancement especially in tougher cities)
    You have to get poor credit customers to miraculously pay YOU on time.... not likely
    Good guy 1 week bad guy the next week to the same customer

    Advice to Senior ManagementThe pay.... REALLY IS GOOD! Don't forget that when you attempt to jump ship for another job. After you clear that hurdle, life is a whole lot less stressful!

    ConsThe hours, 7am-6pm, 50+ hours a week, but Sundays off!

    My Experience working with Rent A Center

    Account Manager (Former Employee)
    Bridgeport, CT

    ProsGreat Entry Level Opportunity into Billing/ Collections Based work. Also a great company to learn about the importance of Customer Satisfaction, retention, Problem solving, marketing, and Telemarketing. As well it was a great opportunity to work closely with such a diverse range of clients.

    ConsLack of Team- Based ethic in times when It was need most. Allowing people to rent merchandise not keeping credit check in mind; If some one takes off with merchandise, the company will not allow for police to get involved to recover the product.

    Advice to Senior ManagementMy advice to management would be to strictly enforce team-based work ethic between Accounts Managers. For example, when there are deliveries that are coming into the store, or being delivered to a household, they should be conditioned to work together, rather than just having one worker handle the whole load. Other than that, it was an honor to work with the company, the Department Managers were fair, and made the best out of my injury that occurred in 2012. Good luck to those looking to join their team.

    Good place to start a career.

    ProsWeekly pay, great training and benefits. Good salary. Ability to move up quickly. Great employee purchase plan. 2 weeks vacation after 1 year.

    ConsThe hours can take a toll on you when you first start. 2 days off a week but you work open to close every shift.

    Prosthe work is a piece of cake sort of like the military organized and best of all the customers.

    Consdelivering merchandise up and down stairs, some customers you have to deal with that are embarassed cause they couldnt pay on time just have to be professional and work with them and they will respect you just like family

    RAC is a great job with tons of advancement

    Prosgood pay, great coworkers, room for tons of advancement, freedom to be on the road and not stuck behind a desk all day. pay raise every 6 months, employee purchase option is amazing, 401k ( 4 years in company and got $8,000 already) health benefits, 2 weeks of vacation a year, holidays off, sick time annually, a corporate office that gets things done correctly and efficientlly.

    Conssome deliveries can be challenging, and some customers might not be the friendliest. their is no accountability in the company.

    Advice to Senior Managementstart holding employees accountable, and rewarding the good employees instead of giving everyone raises every 6 months make them earn the raises.
