I have been working at Restaurant.com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun work environment to work in; base + commission + bonuses makes it a great way to make even more money; simple business model that requires no cash transaction, just an agreement.

    Cons

Very hard to move up in the company. They don't always give the job to the most qualified; sometimes its about who you know, or who your sucking up to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to find non-cheesy ways to motivate the sales team.

I worked at Restaurant.com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great business Model, Great benefits, Great bonuses until 2012 when the company laid off the sales force.
Freedom to work on your own
You used get support from the entire team.
POsitive environment as long as you hit your numbers, lots of appreciation.

    Cons

They laid off the entire sales force,
New CEO changed the entire business mentality and Company started sinking.
New CEO is a Doctor and Attorney and has no clue how to operate a marketing company.
No base No benefits since July 2012
They make you learn and memorize a script like robots.
No career opportunities, I joined the company because they offered me many opportunities to become a manager or a field trainer. I busted my rear and never gave me that option. Instead they laid off the entire sales force.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management was great, really cool people to work for, VP and Regional Managers always very supportive and motivating.
Not much of micromanagement as long as you are responsible and achieve your goals.
No advice because there is no management any longer, everyone has been laid off.

I worked at Restaurant.com full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    + Work/life balance
    + Great Coworkers and managers

    Cons

+ The new CEO seems to operate and make decisions based upon whatever it is he's feeling at that particular moment. The result is often contradictory strategies. For instance, the company stresses the need to go after high quality restaurants yet introduces lower value certs that could only be used at Gyro and pizza joints. They suggest, that we need to be targeting high quality restaurants that require more time, attention and care to signup yet the fire the ENTIRETY of their MCs, field reps and I believe Partner Relations. Good luck Kenny. Without Lipuma there, you're company is going nowhere fast.

+ Unclear future for all staff, you never know what kind of mood Kenny will be in that day. Its clear his priority concern is not the 300+ staff at RDC (far less after bloody Thursday) but rather the 6 employees at his law firm.

+ Continuously shifting directions, resulting in the company going nowhere at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's truly unfortunate what this company has turned into. You used to be a firm that inspired its employees and a place that was talked about in cooking schools. Now, you're a glorified telemarketing company paralyzed with indecision and a reactionary leader incapable of leading or making rational decisions.

    Pros

    training,benefits,sales tools,achievment trip is ok

    Cons

    Comp-plan is unrealistic
    Bonuses are a joke?
Scripts don't allow salesreps to be true consultants

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the comp plan realistic and also reachable.
The CEO is so far away from their customers, he has no clue what really matters.
It is a shame on how they laid off the whole salesforce in 2012, many of which gave years of their life to grow the company....I really believe this company is now doomed and set for failure.
    I hope I am wrong.

    Pros

    Co-workers- it's a fun group
You don't have to ask for money- makes it an easy sell

    Cons

Micro-management, you'll never be able to do enough.
Company has been around for a long time resulting in some dissatisfied customers in an industry where people move from business to business and talk to eachother- someone in the restaurant has usually had a bad experience with Restaurant.com.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize that the numbers on your spreadsheets are attached to people working for you.
