I worked at Restoration Hardware full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

$14.00/hr, a lot of overtime opportunities, free lunches during sales where overtime is expected- lunches include: fried chicken/mac & cheese, pizza, salad bar, sandwiches and lots of sweets- cupcakes once a mth for birthdays. They have a lot of opportunities for advancement.

Nice benefits that start after 30 days, HR is very approachable, I had the pleasure of working with some of the nicest people

    Cons

Average handle time, unhappy customers who think they are above you, management that clearly hasn't been on the phones in a long time. Working holidays

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give the newbies right out of training a chance to get their feet wet before getting all over them for their average handle time. Everyone learns at a different speed- be mindful, respectful and you'll have an employee for a long time.

    Pros

Very talented staff. Challenging work. Relaxed/friendly work environment.

    Cons

Work space was a bit overcrowded but believe this was due to bringing in additional staff during the time I was there

    Pros

Great growth opportunities fro the company

    Cons

Low salary for the complexity of the job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lower the requirements for "Pay for Performance" or raise the starting salary. You are losing good people because they cannot survive on $11 an hour when there are so many local opportunities starting at $14-$16

    Pros

People... The teams are very professional and easy to work with. They are very supportive of your career growth. The culture of the company motivates the teams and makes sure that egos do not get in the way of good performance.
Product.... The products they offer are very high in quality. The employee discount makes it a very attractive job!

    Cons

The relationship on the regional and national levels are sketchy. Although they claim that sales are not counted and they do not offer commission, they set targets and your performance is measured against the dollars you bring in. Sell Sell Sell is the mantra!
There is not enough recognition for one's hard work and they keep pushing to do more without any incentives.

Resto is a great company to start out with, they have a pretty good pay and the actual work is satisfying for an entry level job. You feel a sense of pride when you work for this company because quality is there essence and a huge part of their culture.

    Cons

Some associates are a bit stuck up and manangers can be even worse but for the most part people are nice.
