    I worked at Ritz-Carlton

    Pros

good benefits, decent wage, pleasant work environment, willingness to see employees succeed. flexible scheduling and plenty of overtime.

    Cons

Depending on the manager, some managers are better than others. Sometimes staff can feel policed and like if they don't drink the kool-aid they aren't really valued or taken seriously.

    I worked at Ritz-Carlton

    Pros

International hotel discounts to hundreds of properties. Free employee meals, uniforms, great health benefits and 403B program. Everyone treats guests well.

    Cons

Prior work experience in other industries was not considered for several promotion opportunities ex. a person has excelled at Business Sales, yet will not be considered for Catering for Banquet Sales-even...absurd!!!! Staff is not always treated with respect.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize and show appreciation for dedicated employees who fulfill the company motto and creed. Quit allowing excellent workers to leave!!

I have been working at Ritz-Carlton full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good pay for the area. Solid budgets to provide tools for employees and guest.

    Cons

Depending on the management structure at your property it can be very hard to break into management from an hourly position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring the Credo and the Employee Promise alive instead of making all the employees memorize it and then become bitter about it over time.

I worked at Ritz-Carlton full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Benefits, work enviroment, great coworkers.

    Cons

Unorganized, people always calling off, management would flat out lie to you and seemed unqualified in the Guest Services department. Almost daily someone would miss their shift. Always being asked to cover someones shift. It seemed management wouldn't do anything about the issue. Planning was at times last minute and managers would take their stress out on their team members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest and up front with your employees.
