Former Employee – worked at Rockwell Automation as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – Great way to learn more how Rockwell Automation products are created.
Cons – As a contractor it is not a good place to work since we are only treated as an item, not a person who is eager to help the company. No interaction with the manager and feel like you don't belong.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat contractors as being part of a team not just a thing. Acknowledge that they exist.

Current Employee – been working at Rockwell Automation full-time for more than a year
Pros – Work life balance and overall environment is positive.
Cons – There's a definite agenda to bring in the lowest paid people to do the bare minimum of the job. Senior management seems to be intentionally ignorant of the situation. Progress occurs at glacial speeds and huge, recurring mistakes happen on a daily basis.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to take a long, hard work at the mid-level managers that are in place and the job that are doing to stem the talent drain within the company.

Former Employee – worked at Rockwell Automation full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Nice benefits (onsite medical staff, cafeteria, bank, convenience store) and my boss was wonderful with providing feedback and advice and assisting with my career development. The work/life balance was also very flexible and the year end bonus (if the company did well) and rewards and recognition were very nice.
Cons – The people can be either very nice or strange and condescending. The employees at Rockwell have it quite good in comparison to a lot of other companies but they still somehow find things to complain about. It's discouraging to have to listen to negativity all the time. There are no career advancement opportunities to speak of whatsoever. I applied to several jobs internally and there was no contact or follow up. When I took it upon myself to follow up, I was told the position(s) had already been filled. It's a shame when a company is so large they treat employees like a number and have no interest in keeping capable employees. I'm afraid the company culture is still quite old school as well. People are literally afraid of members of senior management and it keeps anyone from offering valid suggestions and the company from making progress.
Advice to Senior Management – I never once saw any member of senior management or the CEO. Be more visible and welcoming to your employees who are driving the success of the business. Other company CEOs regularly meet and greet with their employees at all levels.

Current Employee – been working at Rockwell Automation full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Its a job
Thats about it.
Cons – Benefits stink.
Low pay.
Poor management.
HR is a joke.
Advice to Senior Management – Get some people in management who actually know what the hell they're doing. Favoritism needs to stop and people bragging about getting 12 hours a day for months on end because of business needs is garbage, typical dumb supervisors here is what is it.

Current Employee – been working at Rockwell Automation full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The people. The everyday Joe and Sally who work here are great.
Cons – "Culture & Values" are smoke and mirrors.
Say one thing. Do another. Example: Travel restrictions? Not for Execs on the corporate jet. why not burn $250K in jet fuel to go *anywhere.* Nevermind that this will equal 2 junior engineers salaries, engineers they will layoff in 12 months due to "tightening the belt."
Advice to Senior Management – Learn what "ethics," and "leadership" really are. Then exemplify them.

Current Employee – been working at Rockwell Automation
Pros – Average compensation, some flexibility with schedule depending on what you do.
Cons – All areas are understaffed. Expect to do more with less. Work hard all year, get very good feedback from manager, but then a poor review. Merit increases POOR! Company cares more about stock holders than employees. Promises made by manager get pulled back due to a 'business justification needed'. In many cases, contractors appear to have more flexibility than employees.

Former Employee – worked at Rockwell Automation
Pros – Global experience (good & bad)
Good pay
401K plan is adequate
Company is stable and will be for a long time
Cons – Terrible work/life balance
Benefits terrible - negotiate for more pay!!
Leadership makes decisions behind closed doors despite very smart and talented employees
Not a fun place to work anymore
Advice to Senior Management – If you hire quality people, trust them and let them make decisions - this is not consistent across the organization, some areas are exceptional (Engineering), others suffer greatly (Information Technology).
Your benefits strategy failed and is now a detriment to hiring and retaining talent. It was a valid idea and effort, probably time to re-position.
You're not treating people in a healthy manner, work/life balance needs to be addressed - talk to HR and recruiters, RA is now known as a sweat shop!
I was being considered for a senior position when I left, I would not return without some major changes per comments above.
Lastly - Keith is a very hard working smart leader who I respect as much as anyone. We all know he's not as dynamic as Davis was, his charisma is within his knowledge and passion for what he does. That charisma is within many employees at Rockwell (c'mon, their engineers!), however, there is an issue within upper and middle leadership - and PWC isn't going to be able to solve this one for you! Come to think of it, they've never solved any of your problems! So launches my consulting career...

Former Employee – worked at Rockwell Automation
Pros – Good for new college graduate or new career employee. You can become "one of them" . They treat customers well.
Cons – Growth is strangled by entrenched "good old boy" Rockwell culture. Bosses tend to gain their positions by seniority, not by competence. If you do leave Rockwell, expect to be treated as a traitor, even by HR, who neglect their professional code. Pre-2010 employees have pensions but new employees don't get pensions and benefits as older employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Look outside your culture to see how professional growth organizations manage excellence and appreciate their talented employees.
