    Pros

as in name its a well , if u fall in it u never get back . its new in India , managment is too worse not concerned abt employees welfare , they attract freshers by high package , but burden with lot of work & pressure

    Cons

the domain is very different from other companies , they have all testing projects , only a few development that too not relevant to current industry . they don`t have expereinced in that domain and avionics related projects , only senior project engineers (1 in team) will have relevant knowledge all others in team will be freshers , they will make work from day1 even if u are not familiar with the domain & project without any training , any shift of project is not possible (all are similar based on testing), some projcts have one employee who works 24hrs to complete on time , all phases (design , development ,testing ) must be taken care by same person if its development ,
testing - they use custom softwares developd by other companies . they wil make work sat,sun witout compoffs ,
if u ask for transport , Hr says we are not runing transport busines . even a minute out of the office must be minus from total hrs , they will giv limited SAP to charge , only if u do work u shud charge ,else ofce hrs are not counted .
even to cme on weeknd v need permission ,
management is so selfish , they take only freshers to avoid high packegs for experienced , they wil call if work not done in the nights (out of station) ,even if u do the work, in appreciation talk team leads will defame personally based on grudges . people commit with other employes in same company since no personal time . people get all type of health issues by the type of work & pressure , there are writings in elevators how good is company

    Advice to Management

very eclectic , apathetic , irresponsive . not concerned abt welfare of employees ,even if employee is hospatalized
ill , they need work , bond is like for labours (3yrs) , if can`t find experienced in domain , why take freshers coerce them to take burdens, spoil their careers

    Pros

    Short term work good benefits

    Cons

This is an old established company. It is run like a old family business . There are insiders and outsiders. The insiders will have jobs for life, the are from Iowa primarily and have long family employment at RC . If you graduated from UofI then you may become one. Otherwise you are treated like horse chutle . You get laid off every 4 to 5 years no real raise and no promotion .

    Advice to Management

Get more outside help , you've grown stale and the world has passed you by.

    Pros

There is plenty of work to do.

    Cons

Management has been saying that they will address shortfalls in pay and benefits, but it is an empty promise.

    Advice to Management

Show some loyalty to your long-time employees who have stuck with you through the hard times. Trust is past tense.

Nothing that I can think of.

Trying to stay ahead because of the low over sea salary that they pay us.

    Advice to Management

Think of the hard working employees before they consider themselves

    Pros

If you are female, you can get away with murder.

    Cons

If you did not start out at Athena Technologies, you might as well be dead.
There is no work on the books and few prospects
All the best and most talented people have left
Only the hangers-on from Athena are left and they are just there to bilk the mothership
Technology is aging and not being refreshed.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your dead wood and part time managers.

    Pros

    Good Benefits

Only work for this company as a last resort because you need a job. Use it as an experience builder while you look for better employment with a company that actually knows what it is doing within the satellite communications industry.

    Cons

Upper management is not straight with employees bordering on incompetent within certain divisions of the company especially satellite communications. Inefficient operating procedures company wide.

Pay is extraordinarily non competitive resulting in a high turnover rate, dissatisfaction with the company, and constant low morale for traveling and employees assigned to work overseas. No further employment opportunities within the division other than working overseas.

    Pros

Generous time off for a private company. That's it.

    Cons

Unethical business practices, lack of leadership support for programs, leadership doesn't seem to care that our buildings are unsafe, there's no fire alarm syst at my place. No recognition for hard work and good ol' boys are promoted based upon who they know or sleep with. Buildings are old, dirty and poorly kept. I can't believe the company has been awarded a "most ethical" prize two years in a row.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending to care about ethics and your employees - put your money where your mouth is. You've managed to bamboozle some outside groups, but you're not fooling your employees.

    Pros

Keep your head down and don't rock the boat and you can work your 40 hours for 40 years with no problem

    Cons

All changes are driven from top management. Even when employees give feedback, top management puts their spin on it to make it what they want it to be. Then, when good engineers leave, they scratch their head wondering what happened.

    Advice to Management

Quit asking for feedback if you are just going to do what you want to do anyway.

    Pros

Usually not micro managed. Flex time. The company has been working to upgrade the average employees computer and phone to allow more productivity. Most company hardware and facilities are being given a 'cleaner' look.

    Cons

No rewards. Cut back on benefits every year. Middle Management full of politics. Career Opportunities limited to who you know. Salary will not keep up with industry average.

    Advice to Management

With 15% attrition and overwhelming negative employee moral...don't you think you're driving the company down?
