    I worked at Rogers Corporation full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    None. It was a very stressful environment to work in. Don't get fooled by the smiles and politeness.

    Cons

    Managers do not recognize true talent. Instead they listen to the squeaky wheel. The louder one squeaks, the more one gets listened to , whether or not there is any merit to the issue. Some people are regarded as blue eyed wonders, who can do no wrong. Disruptive behavior was tolerated. Disrespectful behavior was tolerated. Another person who had a knack for producing beautiful slide shows was promoted over and over, even though he had little else to show.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get rid of managers who foster the above culture and then maybe you have a chance.

    Don't let the 'nice' fool you people who have worked there 10+ years are passive agressive and will stab you in the back

    I have been working at Rogers Corporation full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Very polite.
    -Very mediocre personalities - no volatility - no outward hostility - always polite and conservative
    -If you strive for mediocre, if you are satisfied with being average and not pushing the envelope - this is the perfect fit in a perfectly mundane existance

    Cons

    --All people who are better than average leave Rogers before their 10th Anniversary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get rid of all of your Product Managers, Business Development Managers, and Regional Sales Managers who have been around a decade or more - should be asked to move on. They are holding the company back from growth. Bruce needs to continue sweeping these people OUT! They do nothing for the bottom line or morale.

    Pros

    There are none. This is a horrible company with terrible HR practices. This company recently laid off high senority salary employees simply because one Director of Global Operations didn't like the people. The Director of Global Operations had a very poor performance record and directly mishandled two Rogers ventures that ended in complete failire

    Cons

    The company has no vision, hires enablers to get the work done, but then sacrifices true talent to keep dead weight around the company. This company is doomed to failure if they do not get a vision and get rid of most of the Directors and VP's.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Quit! find something else to screw up. The are not engaged at all in the day to day operations.

    Time to bring in new CTO, R&D head for real innovations. Lucky timing is history.

    Pros

    There are good people at bottom tier of pyramid doing their best in a very hostile environment.

    Cons

    Like any other companies, there are plenty of dirty laundries here and just about all the unethical measures one could read in the paper have taken place in this corporation. This is a company that values royalty more than anything else. If you are going to work for them, keep this in mind. The core executive leadership team is shortsighted with focus only on quarterly results. Layoff is in the heart of this company's operation when sales is not meeting its goal. Stay in the sales and R&D teams but not the operations. There are limited career opportunities if you are not in the right bucket meeting the right criteria.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It's good that you have shed/retired some old apples who can no longer contribute to the company. Bring more outside talents like the new CEO to infuse perspectives and energy. Get rid of more old timers who get promoted because of time served. Good luck.
