ProsThere are some really nice people there; helpful, knowledgeable, and genuine

ConsManagement has no backbone, will not stand up for what's right. Benefits are horrible. No promotional opportunities. Outdated technology that matches both buildings. If you want to work for an all white male conservative company, that shows no real concern for their employee workgroup, then this is the perfect place for you. If you're young, do not apply.

Advice to Senior ManagementAll of the executive managers/vp should retire....period. It will never get better as long as they're around. This includes all directors and manager who have been there for five or more years.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Current management is destroying the IT department........is it intentional? Run for your life!!

    Senior Telecommunications Engineer (Current Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

    ProsLocated in Buckhead
Decent restaurants in the vicinity (if you like Zesto's or Moe's)

Cons* Ignorant upper and middle IT management
Obvious lack of higher education and managerial experience among upper IT management. Bullies and predators

     * Obviously planning to outsource IT constantly driving good people away

      * Obsolete systems -

      * Nepotism and favoritism are the rule within IT. Which leads to a very scared and dissatisfied workplace. Not judged by your skills, only thing that matters is to be liked by the right people.

    Advice to Senior ManagementDrink cyanide....

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Unprecedented chaos and confusion

    Applications Development (Former Employee)
    Atlanta, GA

ProsHonestly cannot speak to anything positive other than receiving a paycheck.

    ConsWhere to begin...
    1. Management is clueless and pawns on a chess board. No ability to think strategically; very reactive instead of proactive. They are unprofessional in their communication (both verbal and written), and no concept of leadership. Mediocrity is the status quo, highly regarded and rewarded.
    2. Rollins IT department is incompetent and ineffective. No processes or standards exist nor are they desired. In fact, when new, experienced resources attempt to introduce and/or suggest standards and common practices they are outcast (sheds too much light on the deficiencies of management). They throw around the latest buzz words circulating within the IT community but truly have no idea what they mean or to implement.
    3. People are placed in positions for which they are not qualified. Actual capabilities are not honored nor required, just the ability to pucker well.
    4. Benefits and corporate culture are archaic...very reminiscent of the 1950s...women must wear pantyhose, open toed shoes can only allow for the visibility of 2 toes, men must wear a tie everyday, 5 paid vacation days/5 paid sick days (really?!), no accommodations for IT to work from home, etc.
    5. The majority of the employee base are older, been there forever and thereby, have been "rollinized". Their ability to maintain as a "valuable" employee at Rollins means their skill set and knowledgebase is only applicable at Rollins and will not translate at any other company.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou are who you are and your stuck in your ways with no intention on changing...point accepted. However, refrain from onboarding young, innovative, motivated resources...you're wasting time. In that vain, either stick with hiring college graduates that you can mold and who will not question your methods or hire candidates on the precipice of retirement and merely require a paycheck.

If you like to work hard for little benefit or advancement, this is the place for you.

ProsExecs do a good job keeping the company profitable, pursue growth through acquisitions. Good at maintaining technical reputation in the industry, marketing function is doing great work.

ConsExempt employees are required to clock in at 8 am or face disciplinary action (suspension) for multiple tardies, no matter how many hours actually worked in a day (or on weekends, or responding to emails at all hours of the day or night). Senior managers are allowed to behave like spoiled children -- it's OK for them to have temper tantrums, harass people at lower levels of the company and foster fear and distrust within the organization with no negative consequences.

Advice to Senior ManagementI am not the enemy, I am not a thief. You would not have to grow through acquisition if you actually leveraged the abilities of the people who already work here.
