    Pros

    There are opportunities within the organization to try new areas of interest and to excel if you find the right fit.

    Cons

    Leadership is not transparent and there is a top down mentality with very little room for new ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management needs move away from fear based motivation.

    I have been working at Rollins full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    If you have a good manager, the work experience is enjoyable.
    To their credit, the company really does try to make it a good experience.

    Cons

    Mostly cold calling, and then you are visiting a potential a customer under disingenuous reasons, i.e. "Free home inspection" then your house needs an expensive "this or that" or it might fall to the ground...overnight.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Do a lot more to generate non-pest service leads.

    I worked at Rollins full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    It was a job with good pay but not stable.

    Cons

    Call center would be full beginning in spring then empty out after fall. People would be fired for virtually any reason. Unfair hiring practices

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make sure that people understand the work is seasonal. Hire them back the next year instead of having to retrain new people alll the time.

    I have been working at Rollins

    Pros

    The pay is fair and you are allowed to learn and be creative with solutions. Direct supervisors seem to take an interest in your personal and professional growth.

    Cons

    The appearance is that Senior Management does not trust anyone below a director. They will bring in consultants to validate what the technical staff report on. This is consistant throughout the IT organization. This is a pest control company so the Senior Management knows more about pest control rather than technology.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Trust your employees more and embrace technology in the pest control industry. The two actually can go hand in hand. Allow your customer to communicate with you the way THEY want to and you will have happier customers which translates to retention which translates to $$$ in the bank.

    Pros

    financially strong and well run. Executives operate ethically.

    Cons

    Policies are absurd. Men can't have facial hair and must wear ties, women must wear hose. Additionally, I agree w/ previous poster on tardiness. They monitor your badge swipes (when you enter the exterior doors) and if you show up on the "tardy" report twice, you're subject to termination. One time, they took pictures of the parking lot at 8:00 AM and then again at 8:30 AM to show who was late and posted these pictures throughout the home office. I felt like I was in kindergarten again. what's next - bathroom passes??? EMBARRASSING

    Stop treating professionals like little children.

    Pros

    The job provides me with some flexability to my schedule and allows me to determine how to structure my day.

    Cons

    Don't really feel like a Rollins employee. Company is vast and has many divisions. Kind of left to our own devises.
