Former Employee – worked at Rolls-Royce
Pros – Where else do you as an intern have the opportunity to walk around the factory, meet with executives, and make meaningful contributions to projects that are on the leading edge of technology in their field.
Cons – Some managers do not provide enough direction and work at the start, however this ends up being a good thing as it causes you to grow your confidence and seek your own tasks and to do the work that you feel is necessary.
Advice to Senior Management – Have specific assignments you want interns to do.

Current Employee – been working at Rolls-Royce
Pros – big research department, flexible schedule, good working conditions, relaxed atmosphere, group outings, good name and reputation, free education if you qualify
Cons – corporate world the way it is. Sometimes you have to the work for everybody else, especially HR.
But over all is a great company to work for
Advice to Senior Management – It would be great if they could promote more often and pay higher salaries. Because some great people leave, unfortunately. (

Current Employee – been working at Rolls-Royce
Pros – If you like Aerospace related work, this is the place. Aircraft engines are an exciting profession. Pleanty of travel opportunities if you want with the right job. Generally work with professional people in the office and shop environment. Upper management seems genuinely concerned about quality of work life and is working hard to improve the working environment. We have the backing of a great parent company (Rolls-Royce-plc). Since the sale from GM / Allison 15 years ago, there has been steady and consistent forward progress and improvements. The benefits are pretty good considering what others in the same industry are offering. The 401K plan is excellent and the matching program is about as good as it can get.
Cons – It is a big company and unfortunately a Union shop. I believe that most shop employees want to do a good job, but they are way too protected by the Union and it tends to poison their work efficiency.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work.

Current Employee – been working at Rolls-Royce full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Good Benefits package, diversity in work and a great team.
Cons – Can feel like there is constant change occurring. Nuclear industry projects never start when you expect them too, yet the end dates never appear to change so there is often pressure to deliver to tight time scales.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to value and reward the employees for their commitment to the Company.
