    Good place to work....

    Director (Current Employee) Arlington, VA

ProsBenefits, office, some senior leadership, possibilities for future success. Pay is on par with market and there is a great open door policy for the executive team.

ConsFuture is uncertain with product enhancements and moving away from CDs to mobile, web and kids products. Hopefully we can deliver against our goals and profit from the success.

    Friendly People

Product Support Specialist (Current Employee) Harrisonburg, VA

ProsThe work environment is great. People work well as a team and are allows open to assist you. The office is also great: free drinks and they have a nice parking area.

ConsThe training is not good. You need to learn must on your own. There are not much oportunnities to grow.

    Good company

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Rosslyn, VA

ProsBig enough to provide some level of stability but small enough that what you do can make a difference. Smart group of people, pleasant working environment

ConsSome managers are old school. And while they will talk about professional development depending on your department there is a good chance nothing will be done to make sure it happens as there is always something going on that puts your professional development on the back burner.

Not a bad place to work

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    Pros- Growth opportunities
    - Lots of opportunities to work on something new and "on the job" learning
    - Constant change: you're never bored
    - Great colleagues: smart, talented, fun and willing to help out
    - Hard working but fun office culture
    - Bagel Friday
    - Tuition reimbursement
    - Free soda/coffee/tea

Cons- Constant change: Can be stressful
    - Lack of communication across and within departments

Advice to Senior ManagementImprove communication in the company, and offer professional trainings to your employees. It will not only benefit your employees by helping them grow their career, it will also benefit the company by helping to retain the employees who WANT to learn more, and it will create higher valued employees.

Invested in growth of recruited talent, questionable long-term growth

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Harrisonburg, VA

ProsI had a great experience at Rosetta Stone. In retrospect, I was spoiled to have Rosetta Stone to be my first employer out of undergrad. Management was open to new ideas and in investing in talent. I learned so much working here, and the people are great.

ConsThe path to moving up in the company was really uncertain. There were a couple of layoffs around the time that I worked there. From what I understood, management in Arlington seemed disconnected from a lot of the creative and R&D divisions of the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop hiring people in upper management whose intent seems to be to cash in and get out. The different departments and divisions at Rosetta Stone need to have a cohesive business and creative direction.

    Constant Changes, but Great Ride

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Arlington, VA

Pros* Great product and co-workers committed to language learning.
    * The individuals take pride in their performance and ownership of their areas.
    * Good benefits and over time has begun iniating employee friendly policies as far as flexible work schedules and time off.

Cons* Upper management has been through multiple changes in a relatively short period of time.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere have been a lot of changes in the past couple of years. Brand and direction needs more definition going forward.
