    Pros

Most employees are great to work with. Can usually get management to work with your schedule if you are a student or have another job. Fast paced, so days go quickly.

    Cons

Management can be hit or miss. Extremely rude customers, and typically long lines. Really strict payroll so you will often find your store under staffed and having to do more work than usual.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ease up on payroll to improve Customer Service within stores.

I worked at Ross Stores part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Working for Ross was exciting because of the company's outstanding customer service and quality of merchandise. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Assistant Store Managers and Area Supervisor go out of their way to assist the staff and customers.

    Cons

Keeping the store clean. Making sure that customer theft was down. Some irate customers. Some store managers operated outside of the companies policy and used their own personal ideas when dealing with staff and customers.

I have been working at Ross Stores part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The hours are pretty flexible, easy to catch on.

    Cons

Some of your co-workers are rude to you, but I guess that happens everywhere. At the store I worked at, the co-workers didn't really show me what to do, and the manager wasn't very friendly especially since it was my very first day upfront on the register. Just kept insisting that I go faster and faster. Some people these days just have no understanding for the fact that you're new. I mean gosh we all are at some point a new employee somewhere and I just feel like the other co-workers could have been more helpful instead of acting so annoyed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just make sure that new hires are given adaqutete amount of training.
