I have been working at Ross Stores full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The work is fast-paced, and there is lots to do at all times. I rarely have down-time at work, which I enjoy. The employee discount is substantial, with bonus discount days 3-4 times a year. Scheduling is very flexible if you're part-time, but not if you're full-time. Everyone trains in all areas of the store, so you have variety in work.

    Cons

Ross is one of the lowest paid retail jobs I've worked, so don't take the job if you're only in it for the money. It's a lot of work for the amount of pay you receive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ross would benefit from a lower turnover rate and greater employee engagement of they paid more, and offered more full-time positions. Onboarding of associates during busy periods (holidays) is not optimal, and leads to poorly trained employees.

    I worked at Ross Stores

    Pros

Nice part time job if you're a student and very easy work.

    Cons

Stealing was a big con where I worked and it meant workers were always looking out for it so the customer service suffered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Only manage if you like people and helping with problems, always treat workers as equals. Also, better customer service may lower theft rates.
