I have been working at Rothstein Kass

    Pros

the company offers very good for work/life balance.

    Cons

management looks at employees as a cost not an asset. there is lack of job security no matter how good you are and how hard you work. employees are demotivated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees think management only cares about company's profit going into their/principals pocket. Whether this is true or false, management must have done something not right for the firm/employees to make employees think that way.

    Pros

This firm basically lets you take off anytime you want nine months out of the year with a morning's notice. You can leave early any day during busy season so long as you think of some reasonable excuse. The only real expectation is that you get your work done at some point. After the economic downturn, the firm was able to hire more intelligent staff than they had in the past. So, it should be a better place to work now.

    Cons

For some reason, this firm hired quite a few people who did not belong in the accounting profession. As you may notice, a lot of people on this board can barely write. This was typical at the staff level and remained at the senior and management levels. The "backstabbing" people were the ones trying to tell management to get rid of some of these idiots. Everyone received close to the same raise even though there was a clear difference in performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire some of these morons and give the good workers higher pay.

    Pros

The diverse, team-oriented culture that brings all of us together. Although the job itself can be tough, but the people make the office a great place to be in. Plenty of opportunities organized to bond. Great access & exposure to senior management.

    Cons

Political climate in the office may be annoying to some, and the nature of the work itself isn't the most exciting so don't expect too much. Can be a little repetitive, but you can get really good at it. In the end you're the one who is in control so it depends a lot on you on where you want to be ahead in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Organize more events to know entry-level employees more, improve the technological facilities there. Enhance internship program by making it more challenging, and provide greater opportunities for career advancement.
