    Pros

Good benefits. Competative salary. Expanding fleet. Paid training.

    Cons

Rowan must have the most racist employees I have ever met in the oil field. The management have are safety concious until budget gets in the way. They expect a mile from its employees but wont give an inch. Not the company I thaught it was needs to remove useless uneducated unqualified persons from the maintenance dept, crane ops do not make good Electricians.

    Advice to Management

Loose the buddy system for hiring and promoting. Get some real talent.

    Pros

Consistency in policy, shoreside support takes care of guys working on assets, always someone at the office I can talk to to get an answer from. Small time feel company that seems to really care about their people.

    Cons

Small deepwater fleet for the time being, positional bottlenecks may happen. Travel policy for some guys is not the best.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! Great change from prior employers.

    Pros

It's a hard working company with good values. One of which is work-life balance.

    Cons

Maybe a bit reactive in my department. A bit of the chicken little syndrome.

    Pros

Team work is a big plus at Rowan. I was always able to go into any department and find answers that i needed without feeling as if I were in a competition.

    Cons

I really can't say that i had any cons. I had an awesome boss and great colleagues to work with.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Rowan is a company that is 91 yrs and growing. Although the industry is hurting right now I see no reason for rowan to fail. they are a strong nit and frugal company and i know they won't take this lightly.

    Pros

Half days Fridays, nine paid holidays and two floating holidays

    Cons

No movement. Upper management is heavy. There's a lack of communication from the Director level on down.

    Pros

Safety, Training, Mentorship, Career Growth Potential. Good pay. Good benefits package.Challenging work atmosphere.

    Cons

Sad that Rowan had to transition to match the rest of the modern industry. The retirement package (pension plan) and lack of lay-offs (decades of history) made it a special "family" to work for and with. I will always be grateful for my time with the company.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the philosophy of "A Premier Product for a Premier Price". Continue to invest in your employees: not only in compensation packages, but in training and career growth/advancement potential.

    Pros

There is a great chance for personal growth. Human resources will try to move you to a better fitting job if you request a change and they offer many training opportunities.

    Cons

They are currently restructuring after getting a new CEO.
