I have been working at Royal Bank of Scotland full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People are friendly, good team spirit, lots of skilled people to share ideas with.

    Cons

Systems architecture makes it time consuming to pull information out, especially with latest regulatory changes - the proportion of time spent fixing things makes it difficult to stretch into new areas of work. Strong time management skills are key.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work more to break down silos between divisions and departments. Try encourage people to tell you what is happening "warts and all" rather than prettying it up just to appease management. How you react to bad news flowing up from the line is key here.
