    Working on ships

Financial Controller (Current Employee) Miami, FL

ProsGreat way to save money, see the world and make life long friends, having long vacations to travel or relax. You have to be ready to work very hard and party just as hard.

ConsFood can be a little boring the same each week on the same day, so you can sometimes tell what day it is by the food your eating, long hours with no day off during your contract, but you know all this before you join,

Advice to Senior ManagementSome people are promoted because they are in the right place at the right time, and have been with the company the longest, this is not always the best choice!!

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Good, Fun Company

Human Resources Specialist (Former Employee) Miami, FL

ProsThere is a good Work-Life Balance. They have a day care on site at the port, as well as a gym, cafes, and a doctor's office for employees. The port is a beautiful location.

ConsSalaries are not the most competative.

    Great company to work for!!

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsTravel around the world, working with a great team. The people, coming in from all over the world, are what make it such a great experience

ConsBeing away from family, your never 'off duty', limited time off the ship in the ports

    Great people, great vacations!

    Manager (Current Employee) Miami, FL

ProsRCL is expanding it's global footprint while providing consumers all over the world with memorable vacations and unforgettable experiences. The organization resembles a family company that has increased in size over the last 40 years and is continuously improving internal processes to support the infrastructure. Compensation, benefits and other perks are competitive, the product is amazing.

ConsRCL is very consensus driven and could benefit from holding employees more accountable on strategic deliverables.

Advice to Senior ManagementAccountability will benefit the bottom line.

    Great company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsExcellent product, ideas and out of box thinking are encouraged.

ConsOn the job training barely exists, not a lot of promotion opportunities for managers and directors.

Great way to see the world, lots of work though

Guest Relations Manager (Former Employee) Miami, FL

ProsTravel to exotic countries and islands around the world. Pay for officers includes "vacation pay" at a rate of basically half your monthly salary added up over each month for 4 to 6 months at a time. Then paid out when you go on vacation/home. Food and room come covered with the job, also all uniforms laundry is free. Direct deposit for pay with no deductions for taxes etc (unless you are American)

ConsWork is 7 days a week for 4 to 6 months. Many rules and regulations while working/living on the ship, long hours every day between 9 and 12 hours daily with the occasional 14 hour day thrown in. No overtime pay until you exceed 303 hours per month.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay the staff more money and improve the food onboard for the crew. Crew should be given at least one day off a week.

    Great company

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThey cover your food, lodging, and you get to see the world. You also get time off to see the ports and spend your off time with friends and/or exploring the same excursions that the guests enjoy.

ConsContract lengths can be taxing and stressful and the food menu gets repetative. Also, unless you're a higher up in management you have to endure a roommate.

    It was great

Check-in Agent (Former Employee) San Juan, PR

ProsAs a check-in agent, you get to meet people from all around the world.

ConsYou have to stand up all day as a check-in agent (at least in the port of Puerto Rico)

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
