I worked at Ruby Tuesday part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to learn and serving is a no brainier honestly.

    Cons

Long hours, you will never get out when you expect, you are expected to sell and untealistic amount of certain products (alcohol, salad bar). Management is AWFUL

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, just hire all new managers.

I worked at Ruby Tuesday full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Constantly changing menu helps keep things fresh. The work is not too demanding.

    Cons

Likelihood of being placed in a store with other weak managers is high. This will quickly cause you to become exhausted from the job of carrying them. Compound that with your 55-65 hours per week, it will have you leaving in a hurry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't take any server and put them through the MIT program. This causes your serious, career management employees to get out of the company.

    Decent Company to work for

    Former Employee - Waitress

    I worked at Ruby Tuesday

    Pros

    - worked around my schedule
    - opportunity to make decent money
    - management can be great depending on location
    - system makes teamwork run smoothly depending on employees

    Cons

    - waitressing can be rough to make tips on slow nights
    - coupons sometime attract cheap and difficult customers
    - if you have lazy people on shift it can hurt everyone
    - lunch shifts are difficult to make large tips because they are slower and check sizes are lower

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It might help to send coupons to middle to higher income homes vs lower income. A lot of coupons brought in are by very cheap customers who are very cheap and it affects tips negatively.

I worked at Ruby Tuesday full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

-You leave cash-in-hand at the end of the day. But that's the case with any and every waiting job.

    Cons

-Management was very new and unnecessarily harsh, trying to make a name for their self.
-Your employee "perks" end at getting 30% off food.
-Hourly wage is at the low end, even for waiters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take control of the scheduling, don't make it the fault of the employees who have the day off and don't want to come in to cover for a no show.

I have been working at Ruby Tuesday full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The company is going through some new and invigorating leadership at the top. I believe that the direction is positive for the future.

    Cons

The process for growth isn't concrete. There are no "actual" steps to promotion and company growth has become stagnant which leads to a lack of new opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give specific direction to how growth is obtainable.
